I am back from London, and am taking Mrs Digi and Alix Ten Pin Bowling.

I just wondered what are the highest scores fellow NOOLers have achieved in this game?

I will post our scores on return

I think I topped 200 the last time....but as you can imagine, being fat, long sited, insane and orish is not conducive to good bowling. Although my Granddad was quite the green bowler.

Ten pin bowling? As opposed to what, nine pin bowling? Five-pin bowling?

my preferences lean towards eight-ball and nine-ball...:skeptic:

Lawn bowling like my granddad did, or a variation on it called crown green bowling.

Very simillar to Curling, but on grass and with biased bowls.

As opposed to proper bowling: y'know, spin bowling, seam bowling, fast bowling, etc........

it may surprise you but the number of pins is not the same in all countries. in germany for example it is nine pins. hence the saying, "alle neune".

246 (seriously, not trying for one-upsmanship). Mom worked at the local lanes when I was a kid, so I bowled a LOT. Never thought I threw the ball intentionally down the lane with any extra force from my body ( I was chastised for "throwing too hard" several times) , but I was able to get quite a high speed of velocity with minimum effort. Per game average when I quit, haven't bowled in a league for a long, long time, was 170.

Oh yeah, alle neune. How did we forget that one?

Anybody think Digi's going because he heard he could get a bowlful?

I didn't think anyone did nine-pins anymore. I remember reading a short story in high school that mentioned a game called "nine-pins" and the teacher explained that it was on old for of bowling, that now we used ten pins.
