I'm remarkably vice-free these days. Don't smoke, don't take drugs, don't drink beer, don't gamble, don't eat shite food.

Aside from NO, is there anything worth living for then?

Working is my vice, I should just stop...and then get arrested when I can't make my car payments or college tuition and owe back taxes ![]()

One major vice. But have no intention of quitting it, like most NOOLers I know! And everyone who knows me here knows exactly what I'm talking about... . ..

Another vice-free NOOLer here. Don't smoke, don't take drugs, don't drink, don't gamble, don't eat shite food.
Plus, I walk everywhere, drive nowhere, and would ride my bikes every day if they were on the road... but they're not. One French, one Italian, both down for repairs, so I'll be buying another bike soon to get me back on the road. English this time, from Nottingham.
Everything's worth living for. ![]()
Well, not the bills that flood my mailbox everyday, and all the shite that rains down everyday, and humanity, and ...ummm, on second thought, nothing's worth living for. ![]()
Jumping in late, but driving fast and using up alot of fuel in the process are my vices. My 462 cubic inch (7.8 liters for you meteric users) beast sucks down a good 6-8 miles per gallon. Sure all the enviromentalists hate me, but I have a need for speed.
Comrade, guess I use up the fuel you would normally be using, so it's even??? No drinking??? I thought at least champajha.

Favorites are Veuve Clicquot (shampanya), Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio, Margaritas...

OK, that could be a vice. But Comrade is just too clean-living these days, I'm afraid.
Funny, an ex-girlfriend told me that that song-- and she didn't mean the title, smart-arse-- reminds her of me. God only knows why. ![]()

Errm, I *may* have inadvertently come across...strike that, RUN across some porn here and there, but I would hardly lassify that as "intimate." OK, so the "moment" was intimate, but... *digs deeper hole*
When in doubt, it's the alcohol that does me in. Couple of pints a couple of times a week, nothing major, always making sure I never drive.
However, I have no idea how I made it to my hotel room at the conference I attended in Portland last weekend, or how my bags wound up in my room when I left them outside in the car on the other side of the parking lot. Last thing I remember was dancing away madly on the floor with the gals sitting in our area.
All I know is that I didn't have to buy a drink the entire night (and next day), and that I'm missing a shirt and a pair of socks. AND I missed winning an all-expenses paid trip to the NASCAR race in Phoenix by ONE number, if only I'dve been just a bit more hung over...![]()

Maybe it just becomes buying tons of kids music. When I was bouncing my baby "nephew" around, all of my childhood songs started coming back to me. He loves it when his Uncle Comrade sings and dances with him. Can't wait to buy him some CDs. :)

I'm trying to figure out what my vice is.
I cleaned up a few years back, otherwise I would have had an easy pickings of what to say here.
Well, ok. There is this one thing that could count as a vice, and that's trawling garage sales for neat statuary or old records. That is quite the addiction to me, and my pocketbook can tell the tales. :shy:
melly wrote: --to say here.-- ----trawling garage sales for neat statuary or old records. --:
edit- being too short tempered is probably my vice. Melly- searching out vintage what a word ! and classic things is a definitely a virtue and not a vice. especially if out of print music.

I like a bit of gambling, only been to the casino once, blew £200.
I am addicted to New Order, but I won't quit them. Can't think of a day in the last few months with iPod available where I haven't played any of their stuff.
Drinking could be a vice too but I won't quit it... at this point in time.

Trust me when I say kids music get really old really fast. Every toy flashes and plays music louderthan my Bose system. Every cartoon and tv show is riddled with music we used to know but with cheesier beats and different lyrics. The cd's are nice for awhile, and love hearing my daughter singing them (I really do enjoy that) but there are many times I would rather beat my head againsta brick wall to a bloody pulp. Such are the joys of parenting.

OK, I'll trust you. But my baby "nephew" is Polish, so his parents got him a Polish choildren's CD, and I didn't get tired of that one at all. Now his mother cursed me for burning one particular song into her brain becuse I kept singing it to him all the time, but i never got tired of it. And it was amazing how songs I haven't heard in decades came back to me when I heard the cheezy synthesized versions. So my baby nephew got the real versions, with his Uncle Comrade singing and dancing like a silly grown-up version of the silly baby boy my nephew is... :)

Comrade, You hit the nail on the head. Something about kids songs in other languages are great. Wife is Japanese, so Japanese kid's songs are so much better, not sure if it's because I can't understand them all that well, but the lyrics are more interesting.
Glad to hear your nephew has a great uncle to be around. That's important in his life. Here's to happy days with him!
And don't get me wrong, I love my kids and would never trade anything for them, just sometimes hearing the same thing over 5,000 times in a row gets a little old.

I'd probably beg for an end to my life at #5000. :)
Spending money on NO CDs. Just tonight, I purchased Community, Community EP, and Revolving World. Also, I am addicted to NOOL. I don't think I can quit going to this site, but I can slow my spending down. I'll buy NO music as a reward to myself for doing better in my second semester.
moaning about not feeling well, feeling tired, having a rotten cold, never feeling as good as I used to, being sure 'I'm coming down with something' etc. Hypochondria generally.
Why should I quit? It's being so miserable that keeps me going.
