i remember that 1,i thought it was a decent cover..
Heard the Artic Monkeys doing a session on Radio 1 where they covered s...ome shite girl band, which was rather good... (The cover not the original!) That's about all I can think of at the moment - unless someone has done a storming cover of Liar for Community?

i seem to recall quite liking that cover ,too.
When I'm with you
Original sparks one is synthpop cheese ( tho I like it....i'm sure it's considered megashite by most). New order's version is proto-rave bliss...the finest NO performance ever in fact.

I was gonna suggest Joy Division's cover of Paul Young's Love Will Tear Us Apart. They really did wonders with it.
Jesus and Mary Chain's Surfing USA? Sid Vicious My Way? New Order's John Denver's Leaving on a Jet plane?

That reminds me of another great cover of phil collins, "In the air tonight" by Nonpoint. If you haven't heard it yet, highly suggest on downloading it.

Good call on JAMC's cover of Surfin' USA. I would nominate QOTSA covering Never Say Never, but I haven't heard the Romeo Void original, which everyone says is crap.

Equally, Laibach's version of One Vision.

Oh yes, "My Way." The Pistols' version is fantastic. I love it. And not even in that "so-bad-it's-good" way

I don't know which I like best about that version: when they showed clips of Sid shooting the audience in The Filth and The Fury (which was from Swindle, of course, but I haven't seen that), or when it was used at the end of Goodfellas ![]()
Either way, it's so much better than Old Blue Eyes' tired rendition ![]()
I'm Free by the Soup Dragons...or The Soft Boys acapella take of I Like Bananas (Because They Have No Bones)
