We had all sports but baseball... I figure this might interest more people than hockey.

To be honest, I don't follow baseball at all since the Expos left Montreal, but I'm willing to try...

In order to join the league, follow the link above or go to game front page, click the "Sign Up Now" or "Get Another Team" button and follow the links to "Join a Custom League". When prompted, enter the League ID# and password below.

Nic, as a complete fuckwit when it comes to baseball - do I have to do anything to get players in this draft or can I just leave it to pick for me? The only 'draft' I know about is beer... :beer2:

Yes, it will draft the best player for you if you are not there... don't worry.

You can also pre-rank your players if you are not there.

Although obviously when it comes to rookies and other stuff, it's always nice to be there... but for me too, I didn't follow baseball over the last 2 years, so I don't know much about it anymore.

For me, Vladimir Guerrero is still the best :p

pre-ranked my faves-that is fun tho vladdy? he is soooo fun to watch...swings at anything man

Given Shug's success-you will do fine

Well, the arrival of the (hopefully) promising expansion team The Master Shakes, pride of the Great Northwest, gives the league an even dozen teams.

Very well........I hope. Have to admit that I really wanted David Wright on my team, dunno who I would've chosen if I'd had first pick.

Looking at my roster, almost half of it is from the American League Central, an oddity in itself as I'm obviously a National League fan. Oh well, this should be fun, season starts in a little over an hour.

Had to laugh that Barry Bonds went undrafted for so long though.

I know it's bad form (usually) to quote one's own posts, but Mr. Wright just hit a home run. :thumb:

i wasn't at home for the draft and i just looked at my team. i've never heard of any of the players and i have no idea what half of the letters next to their names mean. so i will just sit back and see what happens, rather than educate myself about the game of baseball. call it blind faith.

Looking quickly over your roster, your catcher has barely played at all in the majors, and your first baseman just a little bit more than him. Abreu, Dunn, Floyd, and Hafner are good young players who can hit the long ball though. Some good pitchers, a pity that your number one is on the disabled list right now.

ah well, i'm all for disabled people playing sports.

early days yet, it's a marathon, not a sprint (least, that's what I've been told by some Red Sox fans.....:evil4: )

Good for you lowlifes with Nick Johnson hitting a key three-run homer, but damn was that ugly to watch the Mets blow this game tonight. I need a drink.

As a die hard Met fan it was hard not to pick him. But at the number 2 spot I think Pujols is impossible to pass up.

Just wondering, how does the point system work?

Seeing as how PC&L is a Rotisserie League, I found this tonight.

SCORING

On the front page of the league, click on the Full Standings link for a total league breakdown of who's doing well. I'm dead last in ERA because of the horrific starts from Joe Lieber and Andy Pettite, and that's dragging me down in the standings.

Aha, I wasn't familiar with your team name, so I wasn't sure who picked him. Truth be told, I would've done the same thing had I gone second. Great to see another Mets fan, that makes three of us here.

It appears so.

Nice bit of hitting by David Wright again, and great "defense" by the Marlins right-fielder.

I'm seriously not doing well in this... :(

I am affraid to trade players that are underachieving while they should do a lot better later.

I was top of the table for a bit and seemed to be doing quite well, but that seems to have ended now - I may have to actually do somehting, rather than hope a liassez-faire attitude will see the mighty Puffins to victory... Now if I only knew what it was all about....

I know your busy Nick, but it doesn't help when you've got a guy on the disabled list still in your starting line-up (Griffey).

While your at it, Paul Konerko is next to worthless......better get rid of him.............to me.....:evil4:
