Mine in the Observer today:

Mountain goats don't bleat when grafting without deserved support, so don't dwell on the issue. Schedules are in tatters anyway, and you are realigning your work team. Remember your hard-earned loot deserves to be spent – on you!

so there are 5 million people in the UK to whom that's the exact order of their lives......hmmm how come I've met more than 12 different identical models of people?

Horrorscopes should be banned and their authors forced to learn some basic astronomy...actually the authors could do with some basic astrology too, since they have FORGOTTEN a sign of the zodiac due to a transcription error, and moved all the others to cover the gap....and unknown to these drooling school-avoiders...the galaxy rotates....I'm a taurus apparently.....but taurus was NOWHERE NEAR where these muppets say it was when I was born.

I mean FFS I've seen them call jupiter a STAR LOL

Sorry Col...this aint at you, I just have a pet hate for crap passed off as sense in the supposedly responsible media. I know no onw here is stupid enough to believe this dribbling nonsense....but some do...there are politicians who decide the fate of all out lives based on this gibberish.

I wonder how they'll do this bollox in say 10.000 years when we've moved to far the optical illusions their "science" ( and remember 60 something perfcent of Americans think it IS a science) is based on are no longer present...will they just make up new "eternal" zodiacal sings until the earth moves some more?

actually the pole of the Earth has a rotational slant (changes direction very slowly) that makes a cycle more than every 20000 years, so the place the sun and planets rises (over the horizon) in perspective (visual perspective of somebody standing on the Earth) to the rest of the galaxy has changed in the last 2000 years since the Romans/ Greeks... in other words you sign is completely wrong, out of date by 2 millenia, you are a different "sign"... it's like 10% off or something, to take a wild guess, i don't remember which way it is off

not that it really matters because its all bullshit anyway. all that newspaper stuff is just random babble not even based on the pseudoscience Astrology, which is bullshit in the first place

Yeah, I mean I'm supposed to be a bull, according to all this bullshit (:)), but I'm clearly a puffin... How does that work?

  1. it was the Babylonians egyptians and Chinese that came up with most of it.

  2. I said most of that anyway :D

That's the problem with ranting about nonsense on this site....not a lot of chance of a decent row with an idiot...cos we's all smart enough to love NO :D

Everyone is free to believe or not to Astrology, personaly i don't ,it's an old story since incas civilisation, the same civilisation talked about crystal skull which came from space and there are 13 mysterious skull all over the world, and if one person try to collect these 13 skulls, something wrong will happen,i think incas astrology has nothing to do with civilisation inheritance from nowhere, pharaon or aztec,etc...all these poeples gone with riddle

Aye you've a point there lass....much of what astronomy is based on was observed and measured by astrologers originally. In fact some ancient astronomer/astrologers were remarkably accurate in the observations and siderial predictions they made.

any excuse to go star gazing works too.

that the geometry, physics etc. etc. turned into predicatable events that led to formulas being written.. whoosh. makes it all so much more fun that a bull, a lion, and a few measured fishes can be seen in the stars.

still love how so many hugely differnt character-types can fit into one astrological sign. best friend of mine and I are the same sign, but soo differnt. - but then- we get along so well : /

edit.

splash-- (don't know how to get a squiggle out of the keyboard) O. what's that about. no can't believe that there are people out there that believe- but there are-

in-for example- Taiwan people toss lots of $ off the junk boats to please the star alignments. and of course they only do this at the specific times, on specific days of the week under certain phases of the moon. then, when it rains or the crops are good- it is, of course, because they threw money off the boats into the harbour. right.

ahh. didn't see that - thought it was factory 8--d-O or something. on the Taiwan -- just gave an example of some beliefs, and superstitions have become structured traditions. all to do with the visible night sky.

Libra (September 22- October 21)

Astrological sign: Panther

Compatible signs: Aquarius, Capricorn, Vesuvius, Nipples, Bill Murray, etc.

Synopsis: The symbol of Libra is scales, but not the cool kind. It's that stupid, antiquated way of weighing two objects. Likewise, Libras are likely to weigh things with an antique device. This is troublesome when weighing your girlfriend and a van.

The Libra is creative, smart, and whatever else bullshit you want to believe. He or she is blessed with an innate ability to make an ass of themselves in all sorts of social interactions. The Libra drinks often, and alone. Nevertheless, when he is forced to attend a party, his tolerance for alcohol suddenly lowers. You will find the typical Libran sitting in a corner, drunkenly laughing at his own little joke. :beer2:

Next week, plan for a long week of staring at the wall, wondering what direction your life is going in. Lucky numbers, 0, -2, and 1.1111111111111+87 :p

In Douglas Adam's Dirk Gently books, Dirk has a friend who writes the horoscopes in the local newspaper. Each week there are 11 regular horoscopes and the 12th (Dirks) reads something like "You are obese, unfit and wear a rediculous red coat. You will have a terrible week."

I was reading the newspaper and liked the way mine advised me to treat myself, which I intended to do anyway.

Well written horoscopes are a joy to read - the author has to write twelve different things that could apply or appeal to anyone in the world who might read them. Quite a skill. Russel Grant was a clever guy - an entertainer who managed to find a niche and hold on to it for many years. I bet he's done alright out of it, too.

Anyone who still feels like they have to challenge their validity as predictions about the future, rather than a source of chuck-away entertainment, is an evolutionary step or two behind me.

I won't mention them again, as they obviously upset you all.
