The whole of the Treasure album defies belief on the vocal front... Just about still my fave album of theirs, although Blue Bell Knoll is a close second...

Besides HoL, Lorelei is the essential Cocteau Twins track.

...and, for me, Ella Megalast Burls Forever (sp?)... Oh, and Kookaburra, although annoyingly my copy of the Aikea Guinea single is warped...

Never rated them live - sorry!:ignore: Too much indulgance in the studio made them sound.......'iffy' live. Too many mixes/dubs etc etc; too many vinyls in the garage unplayed for many a year.........dunno. Disappointing.

Fcuk me, I thought they were stunning live! I've banged on here before about one gig at Brixton which was like a full-on rave. Strobes, lasers, smoke machines, the works. Don't think I've ever seen the downstairs of the Academy so packed and sweaty. We bowled in late and literally couldn't get past the bars at the back, such were the bodies crushed in that night.

Depends on the venue though, I guess. Saw them in all seated venue in Edinberg around the same time (Usher Hall?) and it was a like a wake, or a lecture. Yawn.

But then seats kill most things, whether it be music, or football, it's hard to generate an atmosphere.
