Nah, dont think it works ![]()
We have come up with a few we like already ![]()
But we aint telling you yet ![]()
I think this thread should clearly be a "sticky" thread.

Twatto wrote: Hmmm....like how its "Jack's band name", like hes the only one in it...
why don't you call it twatto
that way you'll have the last laugh!
"Good evening everyone, we're Twatto."
I don't think so.

The couple of ideas we have now are pretty good, but to be honest I'm not bothered about names until we can actually meet up and play again!! We need to find somewhere fast ![]()
Warsaw was one of the most bombed and destroyed cities of WW2. so if we link that to the present we´ll find a number of interesting names for a band taking cities in conflict: Nustar, Vukovar (former Yug), Basora (Iraq), Kabul (Afg), Grozny, etc, etc, etc
it´s a matter of reading a little about our recent history. of course, IF this kind of subject is appealing to you!

I think that any illusions to his dad's band might want staying away from
That said, i'd name a band Grozny
I may have offered this up before but I'm quite fond of.....
The Movilla Street Monkfish Masacrists
But as Jack says...some songs and regular rehearsals are slightly more important just now :D
You could call it Hook - like Bon Jovi - but I always thought that was a bit cocky.
Try to avoid anything political or anything that tries to make you sound badass (Motley Crue or something like that just makes them sound try hard).
Also avoid combining numbers and letters (ir GENER8 etc cos it sounds like a pub covers band).
And then theres just general crap and lameness to avoid ie. The Love Spuds.

Ah yes.Monty movie buff. AE35 Unit off 2001, which HAL computer uses to keep the antenna pointing at Earth, but "he" keeps diagnosing it as faulty. But he's got a screw loose.

since you may actually get to collect, OK :D
And don't forget it also transmits HAL's most important and final message in 2010. "all these worlds are yours except europa Attempt no landing there Use them together Use them in peace"
On a seriously isue tho guys......we really shouldn;t do this to jack and Andy, it's a shitty thing to do to a young band...at best they'll beliee their own hype and become wankers, and at worst they'll buckle under the pressure and slaughter each other live on stage. i think they should get the same amount of abuse and praise as any other band of NOOLers get. Well when they useless bastards record something to let us hear anyway LOL

Don't feel so bad my mom still loves Neil Diamond!

I said "Mooommmm, you're a cool mom and cool moms do not like Josh Groban"
at christmas time she will play The Neil Diamond Xmas cd. I tell her that we are listening to the Jewish Elvis-it just does not work

Anyone like 'Terminal Velocity'? ![]()
And is the fact that 'Subculture' is a NO song enough of a reason not to consider it as a name? Just wondering what you lot thought...
Terminal Velocity?
To be honest it sounds a bit... I don't know. I'd say keep looking, but its your band, dude! You gotta be happy with the name.

maybe to try for something that the 1000s of fans can yell and chant through the (jammed-packed-to the-rafters)stadiums and cozy pubs that you'll be playing in. think one or two syllables and with something tangible. black quartz. minty, strong, shiny black opal. something that will look rocky & sexy on a poster and that people can associate with. as an idea. 'morning there.

Or you could go the other way and go for some completely over the top long name, that can be shorted - like Godspeed You Black Emperor > GYBE... I kinda like the quote under your avatar Twatto, you should use that...

Not too long...renders it unchantable.
ask Hook why The Witchdoctors of Zimbabwe didn't get chosen. Cos it's not chantable, that's why. That is the solitary reason.![]()

But you can always shorten it: Witchdoctors of Zimbabwe > WOZ! Very chantable!
