how big is the city/town in which you live?

canberra about 300 000. 380 000 if you count the surrounding towns.
sydney getting towards 5 million population is only three hours by car away.
Bremen has about 500 000. I haven't lived there in ages, although once a Bremer always a Bremer.

but Chicago holds a very special place in my heart. Go Cubs! 
1,263,756 (est) in the city limits... the rest of it might as well be orange county, so i doesn't really count for crap.

The city I live in, Laval, is about 350 000 people... but since it's a suburb of Montreal, let's just stick to that one.
In 2001, the population of Montréal was 1,583,5901 and the Metropolitan Area is 3,635,700...
It's the 2nd biggest city in Canada after Toronto, but Vancouver is growing fast.

Oh yeah... Montreal is an island.. though the city of Montreal is not the whole island. Laval is another island just north of it.
So our stupid ancestors didn't think of cars crossing bridges in rush hour when they settled here...

Scrapple is awful, but can you live without Tasty Kakes? I think about Coconut Juniors and Buterscotch Krimpets several times a week.

the borough i live in is bigger than the cities you live near. The city of buffalo, where i grew up has a population of 300,000 down from 600,000 in the 60's. Toronto which is only about 2hrs way has at least a few million people.
