Australia - crisis!

This may fall under the subheading of rant.

We are in a crisis fellow aussies. Stores can't give 'Singles' away!

It hasn't been shifting from JB for awhile now, even priced at $15.99 (remember Australian dollars vs your pound). But heres the killer -

today I purchsed a beat up, sticky, gluey, dirty copy which was actually ON THE FLOOR of Target (for uk'ers - sort of like a department store in the league of Wal mart - not very upmarkey but not totally crappy) in the city for $5 because I couldn't bear to let the public see it in such a state. I had to put it out of its misery.

Are we not spreading the word enough? Is there more we should be doing? Or are we living in what we must accept as a country that is just not a member of the order?

I'm losing faith here!

target is more like k-mart. that means something to our overseas cousins. apparently you can get just about anything at a walmart.

don't lose faith. this is nothing new. in our capital village many department stores or even music shops (sanity)don't even stock new order.

get used to it. there are too many unwashed out there. if you really want a shock go and visit the second hand record shops an count many copies of get ready, or sirens.

Tis depressing, tisnt it?

Australia is very commercial in terms of music - we have some great bands but none are very experimental and there is nothing like BBc radio here. I listen to that via the net now - I never listne to Australian radio.

actually I wish australia's were more into pop music, and not so much hard/pub rock.

there is a place in the western world without target? (or tar-zhay? as it's really called)

no shops here, only distribution chains.

I don't actually mind the tune itself half as much as it's fake record company nature.

I know what your saying C,I also think the whole marketing ploy/fuck up,is more worrying than the tune itself,even tho it is a gash one by the Orders high standards..

Indeed - it's no different from Liar or some other such shite - only difference is it was a big name 'backing' singer on Jetstream - still a crap song, but if they want to release it as a single, it don't bother me - as long as the album contains stuff like Krafty, Turn, WFTSC, etc - very album since Technique has had some dodgy songs on, but also some crackers, as long as they keep doing that at the very least then they can 'sell out' from time to time... NO are well capable of fucking up on their own, they don't need A&R to do it for them...

You're right. I've decided to be happy with NO not being widely accepted here - then I can walk around secure in the knowledge that I am privvy to something all these other people know nothing about.
