U.S. NOOLer's: Who do you think will win the 2006 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship?

I think you're just trying to start another thread, young lady :p
Anyway, not a big basketball guy but I did get some satisfaction out of Duke falling to LSU. They're like the Yankees of college basketball, and it's always more fun to see them fall than it is for them to win. ![]()
Is George Mason still in the running? That would be an upset on the scale of Villanova in '85 (thank you, Sports Center!), if they managed to get to the finals. ![]()
I plan on betting in a pool next year, I didn't have any money and I like my chances of picking the teams that might come out of nowhere ![]()
I am pulling for the underdogs, Mason, and if they win it would be in the same magnitude of US Hockey team's "miracle on ice"-- they are capable of winning but I don't think they will....
Florida over UCLA in the finals.
In order of preference:
George Mason UCLA Florida LSU
No team I dislike at all, if LSU takes it, I won't be disappointed in the least; after all, they already beat Duke to earn it....;)
where is george mason, anyway? never heard of it. it must be a real underdog to make it this far.
Ed replied in your Duke/nervous thread that it's in DC. thought I heard on the radio today that it used to be part of the U of VA, could be wrong on that part though.
Oh, forgot that the hoops were on, I've had the TV tuned to the battle of the Blues, Birmingham v. Chelsea.
I need to get something for dinner anyway, so I'm outta here for the night.

don't forget their funkadelic theme song.
Bruins will impose their Big East style of play on the baby Gators. Bruins will win in a low scoring game...could be very ugly.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that one of the two teams in the finals will win...![]()
Don't prove me wrong, now! ![]()

GO GATORS
Congrats to the Gators for a job well done. Didn't watch much of the second half, I got the sense that the Bruins didn't have any answer for Florida's great defense.
Glad it was a blowout, so I wouldn't feel any regret for watching Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me on Cinemax instead. What a twisted, but great, film.
Glad I didn't go jetting down to see the slaughter, then.. especially since I'm not into basketball! :p
As a Bruin I just want to say 2 things:
I'm very proud of my team and the way that they played and grew as a team throughout the year...and, although I wanted a different outcome, am not too dissapointed in the loss because:
My hat is off to Florida who were dominant in every aspect of the game. Noah was fantastic and the whole Florida team played at a different level last night...good for them!
Congrats to the Florida supporters.
