Been playing around with my music files lately, and figured I'd share my latest mix. I'm *thinking* this might be good enough to give to somebody, but I don't know if I will or not.

1.) Travis - Driftwood 2.) Al Green - Sha-La-La (Make Me Happy) 3.) Beatles - I Want to Tell You 4.) Beach Boys - Don't Worry Baby 5.) Death Cab for Cutie - Your Heart Is An Empty Room 6.) Cary Brothers - Blue Eyes (off the "Garden State" soundtrack) 7.) Stevie Wonder - Tuesday Heartbreak 8.) Old 97s - Weightless 9.) Weezer - My Best Friend 10.) Gram Parsons - Hot Burrito #1 (with the FBB, of course) 11.) Cat Stevens - Here Comes My Baby 12.) Belle and Sebastian - Funny Little Frog 13.) Wilco - Hummingbird

Anybody else got a mix they feel like sharing with the class :skeptic:

I think I stopped making mixes the moment my CD collection prevailed over casette tapes. And that was long time ago.

Now, I just listen to numerous CDs I have. And sometimes good soundtracks make it up for home-made mix CDs, you know (the likes of Trainspotting, The Saint, etc.).

Travis??? where's the vomit smiley? I liked 'tied to the 90's' a decent seventies-style stomp, but then they went all irritating and insipid. I'd skip that track (but the rest are fine).

I can't do cd compilations anymore, can't keep selections down to so few tracks, just do 1G mp3 comps. Currently playing 'vaguely melancholy/sad/downbeat stuff'

Dead Can Dance Orbis de ignis Sundays I kicked a Boy Green Day Good Riddance Throwing Muses Graffitti Cure 2 Late Michelle Shocked Black Widow Suzanne Vega Night Visions Garbage Nobody Can Win Pretenders I Go To Sleep Linkin Park Numb Smashing Pumpkins Today Cocteau Twins Blue Bell Knoll Sundays Can't Be Sure Feeder Pushing The Senses Cure The Upstairs Room Suzanne Vega Undertow Ladytron Evil Placebo Every You Every Me Inspiral Carpets This is How it Feels Josh Rouse (I think) cover of 'somebody got murdered' (I love this version) Flunk's Blue Monday Ladytron destroy everything you touch Cocteau Twins Road River Rail Massive Attack False Flags LWTUA Feeder Comfort in Sound Alchemy and Ladybird off the SW9 soundtrack Everything But The Girl Missing Cure Just One Kiss Radiohead Street Spirit [that's enough melancholy tracks, ed.] ...er another 200+ tracks...

Every Day is Like Sunday (10,000 Maniacs cover version) and Turn are also on my 'downbeat' comp.

Sell Husker Du to me. I only know 'don't wanna know' and a few live mp3s that aren't very good, but I have a suspicion I might might them.

I have to say, of all the "new Radioheads" that the music press tried to force on us after OK Computer, I still like their first two albums. Haven't gotten the third one yet (yeah, it's been out a few years, but I'm lazy. Sue me). It's my personal preference, of course

Too much effort to make one. I've so many downloaded bootlegs that I have not the time to listen to them all yet. Then my Sony ipod takes time to fill.

Maybe so. But I think Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Pixies, Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers and New Order are still going today, so you don't really make sense.

All that music's class. Got Bloc Party on at the mo they're quality.

Mark Lanegan's solo work is clearly superior to that of his stuff with the Trees.

I only make a few, am listening to one marked April 2005; this is what I listened to a lot(besides New Order) while in Cali for the Oakland and Coachella gigs, tooling up and down 1-5 and the Pacific Coast Highway.

Pink Room: from the Twin Peaks movie, the scene where Laura and Donna are groped in the Canadian bar

Think I'm In Love: Spiritualized (chemical bros. mix) Secret For A Song: Mercury Rev Kundalini Express: Love And Rockets Memories Can't Wait: Talking Heads Why Are People Grudgeful?: The Fall Oh Sweet Nuthin' :The Velvet Underground Laid: James Sick Of Myself: Matthew Sweet Lions After Slumber: Scritti Politti Safety Zone: Cabaret Voltaire Right Now I'm A Roaming: Nick Cave/ Bad Seeds The Adversary: Crime & The City Solution Richest Man In Babylon: Thievery Corporation Not Dark Yet: Bob Dylan

I like the Screaming Trees my mate leant me some stuff of theirs. But I agree with Green in that his solo stuff is better.
