Can you get day tickets to Download festival?? I can't see anything about it on the website....do they exist?? Or have I missed it as it was ages ago and it's now all sold out?

Cheers man.

As far as i recall, there werent any day tickets last year. One of mates wanted to go down to see Velvet Revolver and Sabbath, and had to spend the entire weekend there. He said the crowd was just dead for Feeder and anyone who watched them only did because you couldnt get in the tent to see Billy Idol.

LOL yeah I'm really not into Feeder, I just find them boring and a bit rubbish to be honest.

But I really wanna see Metallica and can't go for the whole weekend due to having exams and needing to revise.

Yeah, that sucks, had a sudden urge to adopt a "FUCK EXAMS" attitude and see Metallica when I should really be revising.

I guess it's God's way of saying "WORK, MOTHERFUCKER!!!"

Right, its only your GCSE's. You can get by on common sense and general knowledge alone. What date is your nearest exam?

Bear this in mind, the weekend before my finals at university, i came back to manchester and got horribly drunk before, during and after Morrissey at the MEN AND the Rob Gretton night.

For all you know, Metallica could call it quits after. Admittedly, its not likely. But priorities, sunshine. Its a weekend. You'll probably spend most of that weekend posting here anyway.

Yeah Liam loads of people I know in the year above are constantly telling me that GCSE's are easy and such.

My first ones are Maths: May 5th and 9th. Very early.

Yeah well they are in the middle of doing a new album, that's why this mini tour is called Escape From The Studio 2006.

So they will be coming when they tour that album sometime next year, but I just really wanna see them, one of my fave bands, have been for ages.

Well...erm...me....and quite a few others mate.

I'm mint at Latin, and I was shite at Physics and Chemistry so I dropped them, along with R.E cos it sucks.

big mistake! R.E. is the easiest one of the lot. You are basically asked to spout your opinions on certain subjects. A lot of it is just morals and ethics. Piece of Piss!

It may be easy and based on opinions...but I really didn't like it. It had to go.

I've often wondered this, must be a private school thing.

As I went to a lowly comp. my experience with Latin is pretty minima... well, non existent. It's just adding "us" to the end of every word isn't it? :evil4: Unless you were planning on constantly reading and writing Latin in your chosen profession, what possible use could it have?? :\ohwell:

Shite.

they offer it at public (meaning state) schools here in the US. it's good for, erm, people who want to go into law? :uhoh:

Latin is making a bit of a comeback I'm afraid - the school I teach at is reintroducing it as an option for Year 8 and 9 kids (12-14 year olds) next year - supposed to be a way of stretching able kids... This at the same as phasing French out cos kids find it difficult and boring! It's just a way of pandering to middle class parents... I'm a linguist (cunning...) and needed Latin at university but managed to get by picking up what I needed there - otherwise I can't see any value in learning it at school - may as we do a Romance language or any modern foreign language for that matter... Much more useful...

Rant over...

Yeah I only took Latin cos I'm good at it and I'm well better at Latin than I was at Physics and Chemistry. It's not like I enjoy it, it's crap.

I do Spanish as well, that's well better. And French, did the GCSE for that a year early, so that's why it's not on my GCSE list.

I got a D for R.E. I think most of my school got bad grades for the subject because it sucked. Quite ironic considering I went to a Roman Catholic school. And no, I'm not religious.

How did this quickly turn into a discussion about Latin?
