Actually it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.MANCHESTER PASSION that is.The whole re-enactment,organisation was well done.But got to say there was more crucifictions in town than Jesus tonight! Was really looking forward to hearing Tim Booth singing Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now. HELLFIRE.He must have been on the JESUS-JUICE! Was good the way Jesus appeared on Town Hall clock singing I AM THE RESURRECTION.And Keith Allen was good as PILATE....when he doesn't sing! Anyone else watch it tonight,on telly or in person?

It was a hit and miss affair.Good points Keith Allen as Pilate asking the crowd to choose between Jesus and Vikram,sorry Chris Bisson off Coronation Street and Shameless,and Tony Wilson eating a burger with Jesus at a burger stall outside URBIS.Last Supper! Well it was wannit?Denise Johnson (ACR/ELECTRONIC) was ok.Jesus (Daz Moffatt) singing on the clock tower.Christ (indeed) I didn't know there was a balcony up there! Oh and Jesus and Judas (Tim) after he'd betrayed him,dueting Blue Monday.It did quite fit in with the whole thing. Was half expecting a "Crackerjack" version on the Passion,with songs just thrown in with no thought at all. Bad points Tim Booth "crucified" Heaven Knows,Eastender DR Trueman breaking out into I AM THE RESURRECTION after the riot police took away Jesus and put him in the Police van. My other misgiving....was was the idea of putting Jesus in a CAMP X-RAY prison uniform.I won't go and say that all of them were guilty,but to compare Jesus to latter day "martyrs"? A bit effing strong!

I liked it, turned out quite well. We were in the square but might as well have watched it on telly considering about all we saw was on the big television screens. The highlight was Jesus in the tower, quality moment! Loved the B.A. Barrabas joke, "I ain't gettin' on no cross, fool!"
Also thought the food stand "Hot Temptations" might've had Biblical meanings, who knew Jesus was tempted by chips?

was a bit wierd hearing them songs in that way,but enjoyable if taken with a pinch of salt ( or in my case a bottle of chablis ).i had to text spam during it to find out who originally did 'sunshine after the rain'.elkie brookes he reckoned
