Laying Horses!

Nope, I'm not Catherine the Great of Russia.

Has anyone ever laid a bet on horses, rather than placed a bet.

Bit bored last night and had a crack at laying on betfair. No prior knowledge of any of the nags and no tips (they were all running in the US, I was doing the race-card past midnight).

I laid 12 bets and only lost on one which came in at 4/1.

So, quite a nice profit for me.

Anyone done this before? Any tips or hints?! I tried to lay on the 3rd favourite in each race and didn't lay on anything over 5/1. Not exactly rocket science but I appear to have come good.

Who needs to worry about which horse is gonna win? Just lump on the fcukers to lose!

Think Mr Ferguson's your man for these type of bets Al. Must confess i've never had a punt on this sort of bet before, prefer to lose me money in the traditional way, which normally means one team fecking you over for a few bob, ie Man U last night. Grrrr. Today's line - Bayern Arsenal Fulham Newcastle Pompey Hearts £5 returns £75.05

Horses are too much of a challenge for me, you have to make sure you have a big enough trailer to take them out in, you can't really chat with them during dinner, and feeding them carrots is just something they're used to as opposed to a romantic "gesture". Then they start nagging you to define the relationship and...it's just not worth it :nonono:
