I'm both a Star Wars fan and a Kurosawa fan! The Hidden Fortress is a good flick.

Yes, I was a Mifune fan at some point. I have a Kurosawa postcard collection including the one shown.

My favorite Kurosawa film-- maybe my favoriet film period-- is The Seven Samurai, although Mifune is not my favorite character in that film.

I like Seven Samurai too. I've seen other Kurosawa flicks such as High and Low, Drunken Angel, Stray Dog, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, etc. Mifune looked good in Drunken Angel btw.

I've only seen Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Hidden Fortress, and I think Rashomon. Also the Samurai Trilogy, although that wasn't a Kurosawa film.

Toshiro Mifune also used to be in a Japanese television series, Hawk of Justice, that I used to watch. Didn't understand a word of Japanese, but I could figure out what was happening anyway. Especially at the end of each show, when he'd release his hawk just before slicing up the villain of the week. :)
