To be honest the "FAO" posts get on my nerves a bit. They're usually just a personal message from one poster to another and could easily be stuck down in a private e-mail. Nobody else is interested or needs to know the message so why broadcast it to the entire forum?

I suppose they're ok if you don't know the email of the person you're after but I bet that doesn't apply for 9 out of 10 "FAO" posts around here.

I dont know about that. The "FAO Uncle Liam" thread which turned into a load of people slagging me off was quite fun.

Back to topic: in all seriousness, it's easy to come here and post a gazillion things all in one day just to up your post count. But it's quality, not quantity, that gets you ahead in the crazy mixed-up world of internet message boards. If you've got 100 posts per day, but people are either dropping like flies when you start posting or threatenting to hunt you down and disconnect your server if it's the last thing they do, maybe you need to rethink your approach.

I understand the need to share every single solitary and unrelated-to-anything-anyone-else-might-consider-conversation-worthy thought in your head. Just do it on your blog (that's what I do) :computer2:

And please, if you're going to drink and post, do so responsibly. The life you save...could be your own

That is all :ignore:

Hmmm...

Some of the posters throwing down 50+ posts a day are worthwhile, cos they actually do it cos they have something to say.

As I type, one poster is over 100 posts and never has anything particularly worthwhile or interesting to say or contribute, and constantly starts threads about themselves. Basically, the NOOL equivalent of elevator music. It's as if they are more interested in moving up the ranks.

I never like most the threads in BCD, they seem like drivel. Then again, it's probably what this forum is for.
