Fair play to the Arse, they were feckin pish tonight - but did enough to hold on for a goalless draw.

That weird German lad with an Alan Rough perm saved the day and a penalty.

I'd say good luck in the final, but for purely selfish reasons I want to see King Henrik lift the trophy ;)

Amen to that, would be a fitting end to Larsson's career. Another purely selfish reason i'd rather not see Arsenal win is that Celtic need Barca or Milan to win the trophy in order for us to qualify automatically for the group stages. Would rather avoid a repeat of last season's debacle in Bratislava.

i cant believe Riquelme missed that penalty!!!!!

from an american who enjoys the, erm, 'quaint' game of english football and particularly arsenal:

Lucky lucky lucky Arsenal..

Villareal deserved at least to force extra time.

If Arsenal play like 'rabbits in the headlights' as they did tonight, then they will be murdered in the final. Good luck to them.:thumb:

well thats mashed up my night.. only saving grace is it could have been chelski.. but (just imagine) if AC beat barca.. bleedin hell them chirpy french cockneys could win it

fucking hell. Villarreal are shit. Arsenal played terrible, and in all fairness Villareal never looked like scoring. Fair play to them though.

But the big story is we got tanked by Torquay. Fucking Cunts.

Think Bonzette was seriously on the booze from a text I got after the final whistle. Probably as much as she could spell.

Was Barney Army (painfully) cheering along with her though?! :skeptic:

Turned the noise down on me telly for the spot-kick just to hear the boozer next door explode when Lehmann saved it, mind.

Well done, Arse.

Feel a bit sorry for Spurs if Arse win it but always support the English team in Europe (even the mancs!!)

Gotta keep up the record of England being the most successful European trophy winning country. :thumb:

Hope the Hangover's not too bad Bonzette. :shades:

Well, congrats to both Bonzette and AW are in order first, but this is just more bad news on a terrible, terrible day for me. Where the hell is that alcohol at, anyway?

Really don't believe Arsenal can win the championship plaiyng so poorly, over either Barca or AC.

i agree. my (figurative) money's on barca. arsenal have had spurts of phenomenal luck this year in europe with little to demonstrate they can go all the way.

But no more luck than Liverpool had last year.....in all probability. Arsehole Wanger's name, or at least that of his team, is already on the cup. As long as the media don't start hailing a great English triumph!

Call yourself an Arsenal fan? What games have you been watching?

We struggled last night, but, in previous rounds we have played well and deserved to go through each time! We deserve our place in the final!

Headache pills anyone?:dead:

c'mon, bonzette. it seems as though arsenal have been struggling this year more than they have in a while. of course i'd like to see them win, but they're up against either AC milan or barcelona--two teams who have been quite dominant this year.

Arsenal have struggled this year, especially the early part domestically. In Europe though, there's no way Arsenal have struggled in any of the previous European games. Madrid and Juventus? Erm...................................might be missing something but i'm sure i wasn't that drunk and that we did beat those teams.

Last night was never going to be an easy game, and we didn't play well or to win!

Arsenal are terribly inconsistent, but i know my team inside out, and i don't think you can ever write them off. I think everyone knows, on their day, Arsenal can beat any team in Europe, and beat them well!

We might lose.

Just booked Paris.

Whilst I have - and to some extent still do - suspicions that the very charming Magne Furuholmen lookalike may be the weak link in Arsenal's first team with Lauren, I was delighted with Jens Lehmann's moment of inspiration. (And not just because of the 12 fantasy points!)

I will forever be uncomfortable with the idea alone of national boundaries that divide our laws, way of life and communication between fellow human beings.

But given that I am no longer one of these idealogical neo-conservatives*, I really look forward to the Germans doing very well in the summer.

If only Ballack would go to Everton and not Chelsea...

* in the general sense, NOT the party-political sense coined by US media. We do need a better term for it though.

Was playing football last night so I didn't get to see the game. Good luck to the Arse in the final :thumb:

There was a rough patch in the league but how many minutes now in the CL since they conceded one? Have the centre backs got the speed to cope in the final is the decider to me.

And how the f*** were LFC lucky last year? :wtf:

indeed, you know arsenal better than i do and i dearly hope they win. real madrid and juventus are top teams and props to arsenal for defeating them; but barcelona isn't, oh, i don't know, stockport county. :evil4:

and as for you not being that drunk.....yeah, and i'm the pope! :p

have one in paris for me, will ya?

Well pissed off that Arsenal got to the final. Not least because I hate them more than any other team in the world (and that whinging French twat they have for a manager), but because the hotels in Paris have massively put up their prices for that night to English customers, and I was intending to take the missus to Paris for our anniversary!
