A friend of mine gave me Half Life 2 some weeks ago. It includes Counter Strike (online game, for you who don't know about it)

Now I have to play it every night. Can't get enough of it. It's like poison. Very adictive.....

I hate those teenager though. They know all the maps in their sleep!

And you? What's keeping you up all night long!

as ever Grand Prix Legends. Currently enjoying the 1969 addon, tyres with grip and embryonic wings. The Ai are fabulously good in close quarters racing...can hang out with interlocking wheels for half a lap without them wiping you out, Fuckers still brake test you tho. Not able to play online just now cos of problems with with the 3rd party launcher app. (made by...LOL SHEDsoft)

Apart from that, evolution GT and Xpand rally, both very arcadey in layout with with deceent car physics.

In linux...darwinia...what a game.

Nothing at the moment, but I played Half Life 2 maybe a year back (when was it released?).

Absolutely mental, the motion in it, could actually make you 'feel' physically sea-sick at times, and you end up dreaming about it as well, which is very unnerving indeed. Amazing game.

Command and Conquer. The actual version differs from day to day. At the moment its usually the original Red Alert. Best game ever.

I think I spent far longer twatting around with the gravity gun and interacting with the environment than actually advancing in HL2.

And as an OBSESSIVE WotW fan...you can imagine the way I reacted to fighting those huge fucking tripod "striders".

Must admit tho, the true measure of a game is how often it makes rou backpedal down a corridor shrieking and emptying your weapon, and in that respect Doom3 and Q4 beat HL2....tho I gave up on Q4 cos it became so irritatingly unstable.

Oh, has anyone seen stubbs the zombie?

very silly game. I'm stuck in it just now and feel cheating may be needed.

I used to play the original Grand Tourismo to death, but never really got so far into any other games.

Right now I am playing Betfair and not doing badly :thumb:

LOL...you're a sick man Diamond.

GT is a good idea, but the physics are far too optimized for the psx and the spassystick controller.and with a Wheel it's a bit too easy. The worst example of that was the original ToCA touring car PSX game, which had all sorts of clever stuff to drive the car between the psx's shit framerate updates..they ported it to the PC and left them in......the result was being able to do brands hatch with one hand on the wheel in 6th gear the whole way....in a VECTRA.

Those two games, evoGT and Xpand rally have something of the GT, buy and tweak element to them.....but seriously GPL is realistic....so good Juan Pablo Montoya and Takuma Sato (whom i have raced) are devotees and Montoya's driving style in a real F1 car is obviously influenced by his time on GPL. (no, really, watch how he sets the car up before the apex for a perfect 4 wheel drifting exit)

we got that way with the first Gran Turismo....there was a 24 hour shift system for playing it, competitions called such witty names as "rear of the year" and "front of the month", and phones calls involvng "ha I one the $DAFT_LENGTH_RACE and got a so and so limited edition".

Quite childish rally, but being grown up is one step closer to death.
