I know this is no real place to express it, but wanted to express how gutted I am at the death of England Cricketer Ben Hollioake over the weekend. Not only was he a very talented sportsman, he also always came over as an absolute top bloke. Watched him play for Surrey last year, and he made a real effort to come and chat to the fans throughout. In the same match he hit an effortless 70n/o and entertained everyone there, including my non-cricket fan girlfriend.
A great guy, and a real loss.
Totally in agreement. It was absolutely horrible watching the score updates on teletext on Friday night, with every screen being dominated by the footer "Hollioake killed in car crash". The world of cricket has lost a bright light.
I was upset to hear of it as well. It was all over the papers here in OZ. It was very unfortunate as he looked like one of the young guys to pull england back to the top team in cricket. Unfortunately as they say in Australia. Speed Kills.
