Yeah heard this one before.

I'm with the RHCP on this one. John has already stated in many interviews that he came up with the riff whilst jamming around to the Wu Tang Clan.

Why would the RHCP need to rip off Petty? Answer: they don't.

Although the 2 are remarkably similar, I just think it's a coincidence, I'm not turning on one of my favourite bands :nono:

I'm not even familiar with this but if it's RHCP vs. Tom Petty, I'll take RHCP, as Tom Petty sucks.

Yes, it's a complete rip-off, both musically and lyrically. I guess the radio WGMD was the first one to point this out.

Nothing wrong with ripping other people off, though. New Order do that all the time. :laugh:
