The fact that nothing of interest happened between 1939 and 1945. Nothing at all...nothing!

Oh, and beer. :beer2:

Can't believe no one's mentioned naked saunas or marching music yet.

Agree with everything posted so far, plus my father's side of the family is from Germany.

Where's the 'not so great things about Germany' thread? Is it that the answer is too horribly obvious?

I'd go for: The way they bang on endlessly about how we bang on endlessly about WW2. Look, it was rather an important event, it was our finest moment, and frankly everything that's happened since has been a bit of a disappointment. Let us have our memories. In any case, we're not that bad, that Fawlty Towers episode was 30 years ago, and I'm sure the tabloids haven't made a WW2/world cup 'joke' for at least, oh, 24 hours.

Well...err... Some of these are sadly obsolete these days...

Almost nothing is working (not even the cars), cleanliness is going down (the kids throw anything everywhere)...

Yeah, I know he died in a car accident something like 10 years ago. But I forgot that he's Austrian. Whoops! Maybe that's a new thread. :)

The way the German police are handling the world cup kick offs and not the football ones. They understand that even though there are a minority off English idiots out there, most of the idiots are indeed there own fellow countrymen. This in my eyes proves that the german intelligence have done ther groundwork.A supervisor at my place of work has tickets for all the england games,he came back to work for two days then went back on friday. He told us that the germans where and are still great hosts and that himself and his mates are loving it.WELLDONE YOU germans credit where due.
