I remember one flew into my apartment too but that was 2 years ago. Scary scene. I had to call my neighbours to kill the bastard. Happens when you leave your curtains open at night
Been known to jam then when I'm bored and there's no fish...loads of them hurtle round the harbour for the first couple of hours after dusk eating all the insects, you can hear their sonar clear as day cos of all the hard concrete surfaces and water, so I start clicking an electric lighter or make short bursts of white noise with anything I have to hand, if you are lucky, you can make a noise and watch the bat take off at 90degrees to it's course, before catching on its be fooled :D
PS, no point trying it in an area with lots of soft absorbant surfaces, they'll see through it ( or hear through it as the case may be) in a flash, at least I've never managed to bother one in the park at night.
