Anybody had any winners today?

I backed in all the races but only had Sir Gerrard, won at 9-2. Broke even.

Anybody else bother?

Every year i take the day off my normal job and go work at this Country pub on Ladies Day. They close the restaurant for the day, have a 4-course meal, big screen racing and private bookie in the building.

Believe me, these women go to town (definitely not Primark). They're all married to Doctors/Dentists/Millionaires. I love seeing what they wear, especially when you think it's just a restaurant in the country and no paparazzi in sight.

Lancashire Life come and photograph it every year. It's a good day, even when working. I arrived for my shift at 11.30 this morning and got a huge glass of Pimms thrust into my hand. As the women sat to dine i returned to the main bar where i was treated to many drinks. I fully expected to be bladdered by now, but i'm full of a cold, so am back home. :(

No one can get bladdered on Pimms! It's 3/4 full of fruit and mint!

Hiya Wino,

Not when you are good friends with the Restaurant Manager, we always have a slightly different ratio in our drinks!

No mint then??

Yep the 25/1 slightly, but only slightly, makes up for missing the 'real' thing Tuesday. Gutted. And I'm not from darn sarf either.........so I wasn't going dressed as a Pea(cock).:evil4:

I've been sayin to my mates for ages, i'd love to turn up at Ascot dressed as a carrot or something, the fashion critics would probably be so scared of being critical, i'd win the car!

You'd probably get a ride in one.

A white one with a blue light on top

By the way Al, i'm not orange, i'm a light tan colour. It's just in comparison to your PINK legs. Although i'm sure your legs will be getting ever darker as the summer passes, you'll be keen to show off your tattoo now won't you?

PS: Did you shave the rest of your leg to match?

Tan?

Gerine? :shades:

I've been called many things in my life, dear, but I'm certainly not BLUE. You'll be telling me I'm blonde next. If you're gonna crack yarns at least attempt something with a grain of truth which you can build on.

And the tattoo finally came off in the wash on Tuesday. Had to take a scalpel to the fcuker eventually but it's gone now.

Don't worry, i used permanent marker, a brillo pad ain't getting mine off. Plus i never wash.

This is a horse I have backed countless times, and had win @7's but not yesterday @25's!! Usually comes from off the pace with a fast finish, don't it? Did'nt see the race yesterday, but I would have said its out of its depth at Royal Ascot,so obviously I know bog all..Or more likely the trainer is a fiddling bastard whose saved it for this race!

Well done Wino a 25/1 shot is great picking by anyones standards, especially at Ascot:thumb:
