the remastered series of discs are quite spiffy, eh? The enhanced mixes are light years ahead of the originals, and the 2nd disc of extras are fantastic.

So isn't it a crime that we aren't probably going to see the remastered Disintegration for 2-3 years?!?!? its driving me batty! The original mix leaves alot to be desired, and I am dying to see what extras it will include, alt. studio takes, and there are rumored extra tracks from the sessions as well.

Skip the other albums fer chrissakes, get Disintegration to the top o' the list !!!

Our Lorraine has a few Cure albums back from a time when she didn't know better - and I have to say that Disintegration is her favourite cos it mopes like no other album of theirs - makes the early Smiths stuff sound like Aqua by comparison.

BUT you're right about the production on that album being very muddy and droney and too much emphasis placed on Robert Smith's loud whiney gob and rubbish guitar solos. :spit: :evil4:

Hmmm, I need to listen to the Cure sometime. The only song I have from them is The Walk from Future Retro. :thumb:

My bro has the remastered dics and I would have thought Dis would be on the top of the list - thats a bit strange. It's a classic album and anyone who lets their cure prejudice stop them from listening to it is only missing out.

Haven't heard the remasters, but I guess I'd better put them on my list.

Haven't listened to the Cure? You probably know a bunch of their singles if you heard them. Being that your from the US you'll probably love them. . .it seems all the hate and antomosity is home grown in Britian.

A couple albums to take note: -Staring at the sea - the singles collection from 1985 and below. -Disintegration - their best studio album -Singles - Singles collection from 85 and above.

Other albums depend on one's type of music and mood. All the albums are strong (with exception with their last bunch of albums). They go from punk to dark/dreary to pop rock. His lyrics are strong and talk about love in any manner you could possibly imagine. Good stuff.

On note of the threads title. . .would love to add them to my collection, but cost of a family keeps my priorities out of whack. Will give them a go when I get a chance.

this is out in England already??? I've been waiting years for this... about to throw on Trilogy now. Cozzie, f'real. You've spent days looking for NO singles and haven't once come across The Cure? Get it straight, girl. Anyway, The Glove remasters are out soon, too. Robrt & Siouxsie share vocals but Bob rerecorded his parts for this one. I dont know. check the steve severin for info.

Future Retro is such a great disc!!! For cure fans, the Walk is remixed by Infusion and is easily the best remix of any cure song in a long ass time. There's also a cool remix of Blue Monday done by Infusion but I found that on soulseek I think. Other great remixes include the Static Avengers remix of INXS's "Need You Tonight" and DJ Irene's mix of Book of Love's "Boy".

dunno why you lot think that if you don't like the cure you haven't listened to them.

i saw them on the disintegration tour (had front row seats) the power lead from the keyboards got pulled out & took them 3 songs to notice. saw them again at the xfm festival & they were dull as.

gave away my autographed copy of disintegration, nice videos, a couple of nice singles, but their best song remains just like heaven performed by dinosaur jr.
