Easy one!
It offers either 23, 46 or 84.
Try with every number, the sign remains the same
Example
23: 23 - 5 = 18
46: 46 - 10 = 36
84: 84 - 12 = 72
Now check the signs for all 3 numbers
Do I win £ 40? ![]()

No.
I thought the same, but it offers a different (but correct) sign depending on the number selected. ![]()
it's all about the number 9, the answer will always be a multiple.
the sign changes for multiples of 9 each time.

The signs are always the same!! I checked 3 times, jeez
I understand that. But I used two different numbers (50 and 91), and got two different signs, both correct.

That fits with the numbers I chose. ![]()
Also, try with any other number but 23, 46 and 84 ..... see your sign, now see the signs for the said numbers as well... ![]()

Also see 18, 36 and 72 then. Geddit??
Here's what it does... or is this a plot spoiler?
Warning: Plot Spoiler follows!!!
Like Barney Army said, it's all multiples of 9. And like Maya said, it's all the same symbol. The way if tricks you is it changes symbols each time you play. But if you look at the symbols for the multiples of 9, they always match.

Me neither. And I checked my sums. So its bollocks. And it changed the symbol on the third attempt.
Atmospheric and a bit spooky but still bollocks.
