What a brilliant gig! Night started off on a high....support act was CLIENT! Liked 'em so much,I've ordered their 2 albums on Amazon. Sarah Dubstar has undergone a role reversal, last time I saw her in Dubstar, she was the quiet one.Last night in her dominatrix-like uniform, she came out with man-worrying tone.."Fuck off...don't ever touch me AGAIN!" (Client-title track).Keyboard player's a bit of a fox too!

And then the main event THE PETS,they actually did some old numbers I've never seen them do live..DREAMING OF THE QUEEN set to a Royal funeral on screen, and SHOPPING! Really inventive cubic-like set, some good bit of footwork, the welcome return of regular PSB diva,Sylvia Mason James. And the BOYS? They just get better and better.I was beaming from ear to ear from start to finish. Still hate seated gigs, when HOME & DRY came on,felt obliged to sit down, even though it feels a bit rude. Here's some piccies of gig, quality's shit-hot.I bet Mick Rock is shitting himself.

Big Top Arena

Opening track to the throws of Bernard Herrman's PSYCHO

The PETS

Chris & CLONE

"Home & Dry" acoustic

"M.I.N.I.M.A.L.....minimal!"

"We're S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G.....we're shopping!"

"I love you...you pay my RENT"

"SUBURBIA....where the suburbs met Utopia"

No time to be lying down Neil

"Dreaming Of The Queen"

No they didn't do it. They started with Psychological, Left To My Own Devices, Surburbia, Shopping, Rent near enough anyway. I was quite pleased as Rent has been restored to full on keyboards rather than the acoustic version they used to knock out. They played I thought the best tracks of the new cd and just before Shopping they segued in Minimal. The encore was the dancers doing a version of So Hard then the Boys kicked in with It's A Sin and to finish Go West.

A brilliant gig with great sound and support act too.

I wouldn't argue with the new girl the way she handled that bass.

A smile would have been nice though.

No she isn't - she is originally from Halifax. Her accent is west Yorkshire not Geordie. Dubstar, as far I remember only formed in Newcastle when all three band members were living up there. I think the guitarist was the only Newcastle native.

Well, this is what I read in several old music magazine articles about them any rate.
