Go Rest High On That Mountain by Vince Gill. I've heard it at far too many funerals, it seems to have become a standard when someone in the family passes on. Not that many of YOU have heard it!

"Deep Black" "The House WE Used to Live in" (about his parents losing his childhood home to the IRS) "Blood & Roses" "Drown in My Own Tears" "In a Lonely Place"
I saw Pat at a local bar about 18 months ago $12 for just him & his Strat
the 'Reens still do the occasional show.....

nice one. Green thoughts is an amazing album.
although, Blood & roses is probably their definitive song.
So up beat - the riffs etc. but so down beat - listening to Pat's life story etc. must put the 'reens in my car again soon. haha, i'll probably cry as i'm driving. haha

HURT by NIN has really amazing lyrics. I love that tune.
Cash's version is indeed great, especially the video, but NIN version I will always prefer just cos it means quite a bit to me, for different reasons. so NIN get my vote.
On a happier note, Cash also does a kick ass version of soundgarden's rusty cage, it's proper different.
PS - why do everyone in NIN apart from Trent Reznor look really weird?

do you like Hurt more than "something i can never have?" I guess becuase Hurt came a few years after I heard SICNH a bazillion times it always took a back seat in my mind. Hurt does kind of sound like a part 2 of SICNH.
The guys in NIN all look really weird because its the industrial trademark. Although I would hardly categorize NIN as industrial these days.
so many songs come to mind, but one song that stands out most recently for me is william shatner's mr. tambourine man (the transformed man 1967)
"Tank Park Salute" by Billy Bragg. Came out on the album "Don't try this at home" in 1991. Haven't heard the end yet.
