I saw it. I literally stood up to go to bed and the announcer said it was on. Very good documentary, loads that I didn't know about that excellent band.

Amazed that they all ended up skint after so many No 1s.

Harry is lovely though :love:

I have to say,i actualy cringed at the hall of fame moment.Jimmy Destri & Nigel Harrison made complete fools of themselves. 'Union City Blues'is still a killer of a song though

Just watched it.Bloody great.Didn't know Chris Stein got married.Worst still,didn't know Destri was out of the band! :jawdrop: Missed the last couple of minutes,taped it,but it must have been running late.I take it Harrison,Destri and Infanti didn't get to play then?

Notes that the CBGB Country Blue Grass Blues will actually be closing or moving this August. After all the years of New York City residents' complaints. :( Heard a couple of her ACES tunes tonight which is unusual air play on these stations.

On a different note. Some branch of Music is putting out a new collection of past Peggy Lee work with some of the as not released archived 1958 footage. Black Coffee or Fever. Not sure which but due out in a short time.

I also liked the way in which Chris Stein and Debbie - and even producer Mike Chapman - were constantly making issue about their displeasure of Clem the drummer's ongoing and tireless Keith Moon obsessions that Debbie has insisted on perspex screens put up around him and his kit whenever they play live cos of his tendency to be all over the drums on as many songs as he sees fit to be. Turns out she has very bad tinnitus - and it's all Clem's fucking fault all these years! :laugh: :thumbdown: :shades:

Mike Chapman gave us the most amazing insight when he went on about when they were recording Heart Of Glass when he literally had to FORCE Clem to exercise some restraint and play a simple 4/4 beat, as if he wasn't able to do it cos he usually goes all superspeed apeshit on the drums! But then if any of you have the full length version of Heart Of Glass on their Greatest Hits album, you can hear how towards the end he gets his own back and, fed up of having to play a restricted 4/4 disco beat, decides to start taking it out on the drums on the outro in typical Moon style. :laugh: :rofl:

Yes, I saw the programme and it was very good. Bought myself a vinly copy of the greatest hits from ebay on the back of it. My original copy was scratched on the intro to Heart of Glass. Debbie Harrys crap dancing to Heart of glass was not commented on, neither was Atomic featured. How can someone look so sexy wearing a black bin liner???? Union City Blues was also featured. I can still vividly remember Tony Wilson introducing the video on his friday evening programme for all the unfortunates unable to secure a ticket for blondies gig at the manchester Apollo that night

Completely agree with that.

I've seen Blondie a couple of times and Clem certainly puts on a show, as well as playing brilliantly.

Debbie and Chris clearly don't appreciate his showmanship - they were quite catty about him in that documentary.

Definatley one of the best drummers in the game :nod:
