Anyone else been watching this? I think it's really good. Sort of Britain's answer to The Larry Sanders Show with that similar TV show/behind the scenes bitching format. Even though Steve Coogan's Saxondale is good, I'm finding Rob Brydon's effort a bit funnier.
If you're in the UK you can watch all the episodes they've done so far for free on the BBC site. I recommend episode 2 for the way Brydon mercilessly rips into Dominic Diamond and his Daily Star column; ace stuff

Saw the first one, but thought it was just a bit too 'high concept', too self-referential and too derivative (playing version of self from 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', behind the scenes at TV show from 'Larry Saunders', TV show itself like a zillion other panel shows). Plus the version of himself Brydon plays seems a bit 'safe' in that it seems too obviously far from his real self so there isn't that edginess about whether he's entirely joking or not. Maybe that improves later? It might nonetheless turn out to be funny of course.
I've watched the first couple as well. Quite clever and you know what to expect from Rob. Very entertaining.
Saxondale's alright, but I'm sure the Partridge fans would agree it's not quite on that level.
