I wouldn't argue with that. Perhaps Thriller was more of an influence on white audiences.

Thriller is probably on there instead of Off The Wall because it is the best-selling album of all time (still, I think). I can remember when that was everywhere, you couldn't escape the songs off that album

I think The Eagles Greatest Hits has surpassed Thriller as the best selling album of all time (in America, anyway), sadly enough. Of course, that doesn't count since it's a best of. Also seems like it crept up, whereas Thriller was a cultural phenomenon for about a year.

Lou Reed is the man....or he was, for that brief period in the Seventies when Bowie introduced him to America when the VU were still a cult band that no one had heard of
