i used to love this song when i was a very young boy. Didn't discover until recently that this song was so unlike them. Their early stuff was so artsy-fartsy punk. Quite good, actually.

I feel badly because I've heard nothing recent by them despite hearing great things about them (and an e-pal of mine now plays keyboards with them).

That's their first song that came after Green changed directions to the pop side of things, their early Rough Trade singles don't really sound like the latter day version of the band. A collection of that material was recently released, entitled Early.

The new one, White Bread Black Beer, is supposed to be quite good, haven't had the time to go look for it yet, but I seriously doubt I'll be disappointed seeing as I love all of their other records.

It was called "Boom! There She Was!"

I don't remember 1988's album ever making it here in the U.S.

The Word Girl was a top hit in 1985 on UK charts.

I quite liked Cupid & Psyche '85" (1985) and "Provision" (1988). I suspect I like Provision better than anything else. It's nice to listen to whilst driving down a highway....

No, EBN OZN was Ned Leiben and Robert Rosen, two New York artists. Ned was a wiz on the Fairlight CMI, and he worked with Scritti on the Cupid & Psyche album, but he was never a part of the band.
