Excellent gig! Went on Friday 21st.Never been Korova Bar before.Danny and Reuben of LADYTRON fame, are regular DJs there.Upstairs is set out to what I can only describe as Al's Diner in HAPPY DAYS! Downstairs...couldn't believe how intimate the stage is....erm...there's NO STAGE.I shook John Foxx's and Louis Gordon's hand as they came on stage. Nothing off Tiny Colour Movies (new cd) but just as well, proper electroclash on parade.Old favourites UNDERPASS,PLAZA,SHIFTING CITY,and an absolutely rapid tub-thumping version of WALK AWAY off The Garden. And if that wasn't enough...the pair of them came out onto the dancefloor and hob-nobbed with fans, giving autographs and generally supping Red Stripe with them. What's that coming over the hill.....it's Big Clive! Hope you enjoyed the gig mate.

John Foxx was the original singer of Ultravox before Midge Ure became lead singer.

I wish I was there, I know John will never ever ever come to the States, but such is my taste in music - ever mismatched for the country I live in. Why do people here have such God awful taste in music.

I'm told he also did the old Ultravox 'Slow Motion'.

Classic song. Would love to have been there but couldn't make it.

Saw him supporting the Human Leage a few years back where he did a quality version of My Sex

He did Hiroshima Mon Amour too, fantastic song. Dislocation too...

Then solo there was Underpass, No One's Driving, Europe After The Rain and Morning Glory to name but a few...

Did some crap noodlings with Harold Budd later on but all round a top songwriter imho.

And him and Ultravox were the main inspiration for Gary Numan and Tubeway Army.He recently listed Ultravox's "Slow Motion" as one of his top 10 I-Pod tunes.

I couldn't agree more with you Monty. Saw John at Scala in London on Thursday 28/07/06 right down the front and he and Louis put on a really enthusiastic performance and thanked the crowd for there support!:thumb: I hope you also enjoyed Danny & Reuben's DJ Set as well Monty cheers!

Didn't get to see Danny and Reuben,Al.They weren't due on till about 1 am,so we buggered off before the support (The Rubicks) came on. My mate Shorty,in the last picture with Foxx, went down on Saturday to see them in Leeds.Got invited back stage, where they signed his mega-rare ULTRAVOX - YOUNG SAVAGE poster. So he rang me after the gig and passed me over to a familiar gentleman.

"Hello is this Monty?" "AAYYEE IS THAT MIDGE URE????" :ignore:
