Any MBM fans around?

Anyone made mention of the track "Hello Teenage America" (99%, 1990, PIAS) being built around a loop of Joy Division's "As You Said..."?

A mate just gave me an official live bootleg CD from their most recent tour, and they performed an extended version of it live. It sounds great.

MBM are still going?

I bought a couple of their songs about 1993, when they were remixed by Orbital, who made an average song sound good (cant remember its name), but it had the intro to Remind by Orbital at the beginning.

Another song that was ok, began with the sample 'Q: What is your one purpose in life? A: To Explode of Course'.

Someone must know out there.

Yep, still going. The albums since '95 have been more jazz-influenced, but Dangers seems to be coming back around to his original sound that influenced so many people.

The singles you're talking about are "Mindstream" and "Edge Of No Control", from the album Satyricon in 1992.

They're the ones.. hard-edged things, but good.

I just googled Jack Dangers. He was born in Swindon.

A fan here as well. Absolutely love his sound. I never made the connection on "Hello Teenage America" so I'll have to go back and listen more closely.... interesting.

Just wanted to tell you how much I love your cover of "ICB". I can't wait for the official disc to be released so I can play it on one of my shows.

I've loved them since around 99% but they/he lost me after subliminal sandwich where things started getting a little too free jazz for me. danger's "hello friends" is great if you havent checked it out yet. did they play much of their older stuff for that show?

Yeah, more than 50% of the CD is older stuff.

He would have constructed that track sometime around 1989, which means he'd have to have sampled the flexidisc. It wouldn't have appeared on CD anywhere at that time.

Not even on bootlegs? I'm thinking it was not long after that when I got that Joy Division lyric book that came with a 3 inch CD of that and some early demos.

Hmm... maybe that was more around 92 or 93... it's all a blur...

I saw them at 1st Ave back when they opened for NIN. Never heard them before bur immediately purchased all I could. Totally blew NIN off the stage.
