Was directed at Owens actually.
I remember your list, although Christ knows why you would want to go and see Frank Zappas son play Frank Zappa songs.

I could say the same about you wanting to see a quarter of The Smiths play Smiths songs.
Well... I fail to see the similarity between Frank Zappas son playing Frank Zappa songs, (and charging £40 for the privilege) and Morrissey (who, in the eyes of the law, was HALF of The Smiths) playing Smiths songs, which he actually co-wrote.

And may I ask how do you know how many gigs I go to?
Uncle Liam wrote: Whats your point Owens? I dont think you have one considering the chances are you've never even heard of some of those bands, nevermind seen them live.
My point is that I think the bands you listed are funny:
Muse - Saw them at Ulster Hall. Crap.
Franz - Seen them twice. Mediocre.
Placebo - Saw at Oxegen. Mediocre.
Mystery Jets - Saw on NME tour. Rubbish.
Hope Of the States - Saw at Oxegen. Mediocre.
Kaisers - Rubbish
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - First album's passable. That's it.
Belle and Sebastian - Mediocre
The Automatic - ![]()
The Young Knives, Metric, Broken Social Scene, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Fields, Hot Chip, Field Music...

Nice to see that you think my post worthy of a reply, Core.
There are some cracking bands on at Leeds/Reading. Avoid Clap Your Hands Say Yeah though ![]()
V has Radiohead, Beck & Moz though, seems a far better lineup IMO.

I wish The The would play. With Johnny Marr. Saw them in Manchester years ago and it's still the best gig I've been to.
I call them The The The though - just to wind Hibster up.

ok.
but those last three are nowhere near as good as the first two.
If the whole album was as good as those two, it would be the greatest album of all time.
but its not. its mostly poor.

Fair point.
Although if you're stoned, it really is the best album ever.
That Albert Hall concert is the best one. The performance of Beyond Love is brilliant. And Another Boy Drowning.
I love The The The I do.
the this is the day from the soul mining album by the the the is a quality tune the col. still prefer the infected by the the the though

a wile man? whassat?
personaly i don't think you can judge bands by their festival performances (unless they really shine) the atmosphere is completely different for a start
Firstly, this is BULLSHIT from a man who knows absolutely nothing about what he is talking about.
Muse - Saw them at Ulster Hall. Crap.
I was at this gig, and it was phenomenal to say the least. Considering i didnt even like Muse at the time, thats quite an achievement.
Secondly, I have a pretty good guess about how many gigs you go to. two reasons, you live in belshaft which, lets face it, is not known for its gig activity. And the other reason is most of the time you go to a gig, you cant wait to get on here and tell us all about it.
Thirdly, I note that those bands you used the
smiley for, are mostly small bands who havent released an album yet, or if they have its been relatively low key. So i'm thinking that an idiot like you hasnt bothered to listen to them.
Which I think is a perfectly fair point.

Aye I was at that gig too, thought they were excellent. Twas a Saturday night if I can recall. They are far better live than on cd IMO. Must have been one big happy NOOL night at the Ulster Hall ![]()

I don't give a fuck what you thought. I was there, I thought it was rubbish.

Something you have a habit of doing as well on occasions. Then you pissed and whinged at me about it, so I cut it down. Anyway, gigs also happen in Dublin and across the water, so I can head to them as well

Or else I have listened to some of their stuff on MySpace etc and think nothing of them?
Go back to work.
