Anybody ever a fan of them? Been listening to the Facts Of Life album again recently.Some good tunes on there- Art Of Driving ,English Motorway System ,Deverell Twins and Goodnight Kiss (great song!).Some of it is a bit too fey but some great lyrics in a lot of songs -

" I wish you'd learn to slow down You might get there at the end Don't think the accelerator pedal Is a man's best friend You don't have to break the speed limit You don't have to break your neck Another dead boy-racer Cut out from the wreck"

Didnt realise til recently one of them is ex Jesus &Mary Chain :eek3:

I know they did an album too called England Made Me.Is that worth checking out???

Anyways, wonder where did that name come from? There used to be a band (mid/late 80's from what I recall) called Black Box. They did that 'I don't know anybody else' tune (rubbish). Any resemblance to BBR? No? Good.

nothing like them. I always thought they were named after the coloured lead singer, cos she had a black box.:evil4:

the one you mention tis a good album - there's a remix of the facts of life by jarvis cocker that's a little dirtier. but not much. haven't got the other album, but have toyed with picking it up

"Black Box Recorder are Sarah Nixey, Luke Haines (of The Auteurs) and John Moore (formerly of the Jesus and Mary Chain). John Moore and Sarah Nixey married in 2001, and have one child. They divorced in 2006. Though the band are not currently active, they have not officially split. A solo album from Nixey is scheduled to be released in 2006 preceded by the singles "The Collector" and "Strangelove"
