Drink and drugs? Pepsi Max and cornish pasties more like.

Can't help but think this is a cynical rouse to give them more rock & roll "cred" which they always sorely lacked thanks to their MOR ballads. Such a ruddy cliche, the lead singer going into rehab.

He probably overdid the Lemsip one night and the manager had the idea

Fucking lightweight.

Floppy-fringed rocker takes one sniff of the barmaids mirror and he's off to rehab. Heard it all before. I saw a very famous star take cocaine for the first time and less than two months later he was moaning about drug hell from the comfy bed of his posh rehab clinic.

Richards and Gillespie should open a rock star college where new talent gets sent to learn the ropes before they start.

If it's a marketing ploy, it's a shit one. With a No 1 album and a lot of people holding tickets, the timing is poor.

If he geniunely feels he needs help he should have a nice warm bath, a good nights sleep, a change of friends and get on with his fucking job.

Sometimes I really think 75% of the drug usage in this world is done by members of the entertainment community... :skeptic:

Nah - it's just 75% of the showing off about it is done by pop stars.

Shame they haven't got him straight into the studio to see if his 'drug hell' might inject a spark of creativity into Keane's usual blandcore...

Yeah, def not pretty, but I noticed in Spain that for this second album, the stylists have been out. More flattering haircut and untucked open shirt!

The current NME has an interview with them. Wouldn't normally have read it, but had a scan through this morning. A few things caught my eye as not quite right.

The article mainly concentrated on the guitarist, who was described as the spokesman. Any band where the singer is not considered the main man is going to struggle for credibility. Makes me think that the singer is trying to wrest control with a good old fashioned 'not touring' hissy fit. Like a challenge to see whether the band can carry on without him.

The second thing is that guys hair - no style, he's just grown it long. Proper posh boy rebellion.

Third thing was the desperation of the whole band to adopt rock credibility - name checking bands that don't hate them (only a small list, as it happens), insisting on holding dirty beer in all of their photos and making sure they stay up after the journos have gone to bed.

In all, a very sympathetic article, but one that leaves the impression of a band that are trying far too hard to look rock.

And failing.

And the fourth thing...From beyond the grave, Great uncle Charlie says, get your fuckin mop cut,get some drink and drugs into you and stop being a fuckin whinging spoilt little ponce!

Bit harsh, but Charlie never got to voice his opinions in the silent movies,so I won't begrudge him this one...

Even if Harold Lloyd was better,by far:thumb:

He's a silly sod, read last month that during their last US tour, they were all coming apart from the seams.A lot of their lyrics on Under the Iron Sea stems from it. Still odd reading it though, the equivalent of reading that James Blunt injects heroin into his cock!
