He's 60 and has been sick for 10 days - nausea, fever, shakes, etc. They confirmed it with a blood test. Sounds like he's going to be okay, but his wife said it's a real ass kicker - like a severe bout of the flu.

Given the population base of the area, it's pretty serious here right now. Bombing the place with pesticide appears to be the only answer.

I'm sorry... :( It's nasty business

I lived in Westchester County (Nueva York) at the beginning of West Nile hysteria when they were finding all the cases in Yonkers etc. We'd have daily gassings at dusk... couldn't go outside had to close windows. It was creepy.

I hope your uncle does get better :/
