If that's really the symotoms I would offer that the keyboard ribbon has gone wonky, a no brainer to fix, anyone should be able to yank it and re-plug it. Course if it is hardwired, either you need to find a 7yrold who can solder, or turf the lapper out and buy a new one.
Simplest fix would be ( this is serious) hold it level about 6 inches above a flat surface and drop it, that usually drops everything back into it's seat ( make sure it is OFF, or you will trash your HD doing this).
