I much prefer the natural look on a lass personally.. Not a fan of all that clart, can spoil an already nice looking face for me.But that's just me:shrug: Suppose a bit of make-up if a bird really needs it,cos, well, she's a bit of a munter, can be useful for her!:uhoh:

Which brings about another question: is Boy George really a bloke?

Either he's a bloke or he's a chick with a serious throat tumour ;)

Why do women wear make up and perfume?

Cos they're ugly and they smell.

I'll get me coat tomorrow, for now I'll just run.

Well... all a man needs in the bathroom is stuff to shave, a comb and a thootbrush , oh, and something for the armpits of course.

While women have about 50 bottles of stuff everywhere and you don't even know what it's for.

Sure, there is nothing like a natural beauty, but for the others, they have to advantage themselves, hence the use of make-up (don't get me wrong here), light make-up can really enhance the look... but too much make-up can also ruin it completly.

But then again, how many time do women take to do their hairs anyways...

And they all do that for us, so we shouldn't discuss it

the only one of the things you list we NEED is the toothbrush, the others are only so we make ourselves acceptable to women.

If there were no women we'd sit in our boxers and grow beards, surrounded by moutains of beer empties, the playstation would also predate the wheel.

They did a test on Top Gear once.... Could the ford world rally team change every single component of the suspension and transmission on a world rally car quicker than some chicks could get ready to go out....needles to say, the car drove off before even shoes had been decided on.

i have it on good authority that females dress up etc not for guys, but to impress other females.

well of course they do, while most of us do appreciate the result, most of us also think it isn't neccessary.

a well made up female in a hot dress does look hot but.

When out in the "field" we shower every 3-4 days, change our clothes once a week (change of socks and drawers are a daily must though), and talk inthe most obsene and vulgar way....but we don't forget to brush our teeth....and there are no women present. I would say the Doctor hot the nail on the head.:smoking::bow:

I quite like make-up, but I like make-up that is barely there.

Heavily-applied makeup sucks. The best application of makeup is minimal, like a little lip gloss, a touch of blush, and that's it.

Just my opinion.

Emma

PS I think Ron is right. Women usually dress up and put on makeup to impress their female friends. I know that when a woman says to me "I love your dress" or "What's the name of your lip gloss? I want it" or something to that effect, it feels good to be complimented.

They're trying to get compliments from their female friends, cos they know their men won't even notice.

Not quite. I think it is about competition.

'cause it pays to advertise what you are trying to sell, and cover up what you can't sell

Maybe that old Millers ad was onto something...

She told me we couldn't afford beer anymore and I'd have to quit. Then I caught her spending $60 on make-up.And I asked her how come I'd have to give stuff up and she didn't.She said she needed the make-up to look pretty for me.I told her that was what the beer was for.I don't know if she's coming back.

Miller Beer: Good call.

  • do you know how badly you can smell. Or the damage that 24 hr.s w/out shaving can do to our (the ladies')skin?! There also is the reason that you dive into the shower at first chance. eh.

Can't be wearing too much of any make-up in most climates unless you want to go around looking like Liza Minnelli or Courtney Love caught in the rain. Same thing for fussy hairstyles.

The competition thing. Don't see that. It's genuine if you're OK with who you are.. There are a few older East Indian Ladies who work in the shops 'round here and I'm always asking about their lipstick. etc.s Just the shimmeriest deep colours. Mezmerizing really.

Then there are the gals at the cosmetic counter it's a class act to wear make-up well. Stuardesses et al.

Some women look better with it, some look better without it...and then there's Tammy Faye Bakker :uhoh:

So make your own call on that one :thumb:

Nail on the head as usual:thumb:

Women try to make themselves 'attractive' wheras men stop as soon as we get to 'acceptable'.

. . . . i'm off to do me teeth now! :D

Why do women wear make-up??

Have you SEEN me without make up?

Actually I only bother with it if i'm going out at night or if i've got a huge spot on my face. Much prefer being au-naturale (apart from my orange glow), but it would be unfair to make people face me like that.

But if I have a spot on my face, I go out anyway - what's the problem? & no, I havent seen you without makeup, but you look pretty in your photos (as do most women imho).

I heard something recently about women getting more attractive in recent generations, while us men are getting uglier - personally i'd believe that, but women just don't see themselves the way we do:nuts:
