I nearly did! I posted on a The The website for a bit and they were having a NOOL Day type thing in Larndon. Well, they were actually planning to meet in a pub and commandeer the sound system to play The The music. About a week before the event, a big row broke out about (I think) whether to allow bootleg recordings of gigs. Aparently the band are really against bootlegs and threaten to sue anyone who they catch trading in them. It all got a bit personal so I knocked the idea on the head.

Sort of felt that way about NOOL a couple of times, but mainly it was my medication addled brain getting things out of proportion. Besides, I never met a NOOLer I didn't like.

(never met a real NO fan I didn't like, NOOL or otherwise.....even if it IS only cos it's great to have someone to talk to who doesn't glaze over when you start talking about Hooky's bass and it's effect on western civilisation)

Oddly enough, the one internet (ahem) community, you'll never see this lad hankering to go boozin with is Linux geeks. Bunch of furry toothed weirdos who know WAY too much. I just use the sodding thing cos windows gives me brain palpatations, I couldn't code "Hello world" from a manual ( really, I've tried).

No. Only other boards I visit with any regularity are to do with work or birdwatching. So a bit geeky. No laikin out with them.

I have 'travelled with' & 'met up' with people who do what we do on sites for Mogwai. Mainly to share travel & make the trip more prudent. I dont have time to cruise & comment as on here. I know their music is slightly different to da Order and most fans are right scruffy twats but they are next on the list (below N.O) I have also put names with faces at Bjork gigs (late 90's )but not now. (mainly cause i last saw her @ Shepherds Bush in 03' lazy bugger) However, i do recognize & continue to, a hell of a lot of faces at gigs by Weller & the Bunnymen- heaven forbid that i would converse with them though.

Wanderers Ways, my best friend is on there all the time anyway and i've met loads of the others before and after the home games.

Yeah, quite a surprise to bump into AL, JG et al near Waterloo station on a Thurs eve..

I met up with the DM fans cuz I haven't seen some of them since the gig in June..some I haven't seen since last year or so..those guys are quite normal but there are a few nutters too..

There used to be a fairly large DM group in London that used to meet up every couple of months but in the past year, many have disappeared..

DM, NO, Cure..all similar fans in North America..in the UK its quite a different story...

Me, JG and Mickey Way ran into Midnight Blue last night and he was having a meet with people from another website.

I won't say which website, but suffice to say, I was gobsmacked they all looked so normal. No short leather skirts, make-up, or leather.

I do, On about 4 different local band sites, But most of them are folks I've already met at gigs, and generally people only post when someones mobile is f##ked or whatever

Actually becoming a member of another website is too much effort never mind meeting them!

I can't think of any other websites I want to contribute to or have the time to do so.

Although it was a present surprise meeting Al, Johnny Giles and Hibster on the first meet up, don't want go through it again - may not be as lucky!

I drink, smoke left handed cigs and bicycle with the freaks from http://www.bikeiowa.com. Look up Team Smack for the freaks. I have also attended "conventions" for a flight sim/game I frequent. Alcohol seems to be the common connection.
