First round knock out, I went watching him last time he was on at Bolton Arena, glad I didn't bother tonight, I'd want my money back!!

Can't wait till he meets a Central American, but doubt his management would risk that

Don't expect to see Amir in any kind of test until he's had 15-20 fights..But his promoter is Frank Warren,so you can make that 30 fights...

This is the way in boxing when you have a really talented kid,and Kahn is just that,Shit Hot! Its all about gaining experience just now...tho conceiveably 2 or 3 years down the line we could have Amir Kahn Vs Ricky Hatton for the Championship of the world....Would'nt that be some fight? The proud, long reigning rib-breaking excitng champion of the people, Hatton vs the mandatory young gun worldbeater Kahn...Natch,these are the fights that people wanna see,and i've had much the same frustration as Jemma in shelling out for a Joe Calzaghe fight,a proper good opponent with Joe in a real fight, only for a substitute tomato can who could not fight whatsoever,to step in as a late replacement and get instantly pummeled, fight over! Puts you off going along a bit...

Best bit of the last Khan fight at the Arena was when it kicked off in the bar!! It was brilliant, TV cameras should have rolled.

Are you tellin us the Boxing was so poor, you had to go creating a bit of needle in the bar!:nono: You are nowt but a thug!

Never been to any shows where its kicked off, rowdy and often raucous yes,but violence wise,no....then again,You wer'nt there!

Edit:Was big Sam there? He goes to alot of Kahn fights...

There was a build up all night, Amir Khan wasn't the main fight but his fans and his rivals fans were chanting all night, before, during and after the fight. We went into the bar to grab a drink before the main event and there were a load of rival fans in. The minute the word 'paki' was chanted in the bar it went off royal.

Then there was a bomb scare and we all got turfed out.

All in all a very interesting night!

I remember the fight, and read press, but don't remember racial shite coming into it tho... I was very much under the impression Amir was a rising star in Bolton, and rightly so,what else have yers got?Le Sulk:cry::laugh: Sign of the times, and the ongoing racial bullshit that semmingly always will plague society, but some of these doyles should support their local lads,or fuck off...Nuver glass of Claret pour moi see voo fuckin play...

He is our star, everyone in Bolton is behind him. It was a load of cockneys that were shouting racial abuse, the main instigator paid for his comments from what I remember.

I'm following his progress too,he's very good, and seems like a nice young fella, tho his chin has yet to be tested, natch(thats twice I've used that now:nod: )

And my fuckin computer is playin up now,the git!

Dunno, rather watch concrete set than cricket..But the word "Paki" is far more offensive, than for example the word "Brit"(even tho thats's marginally offensive to some)because of the malicious intent in the delivery of the word "Paki"..Now If he was playing Pakistan, what were the Pakistani fans making of him playing for England? Poor bastard would'nt have known if he was batting or bowling....

Silly thing is.. Paki in the sub-continent means purely that you come from Pakistan. Not in the nasty sense it was used in this country in the eighties and nineties.

Besides the new insult for Pakistanis in this country is 'ball-tamperer'.

Once knew a ball-trampler,she was nasty with her high heels on,that one:eek3:

Yes Sajid Mahmood is Amir Khan's cousin, and his younger brother is a talented all rounder at cricket. Also Amir's younter brother is also a superb boxer and may even be better than Amir, talented family.

So he`s nearly as fast in the ring as he is behind the wheel? :D
