Did it make any reference to the CIA backed overthrow of Mohammed Mossadegh in 1953? He was Iran's 1st (and only) democratically elected leader. Pissed off the West when he tried to nationalise Iranian oil. Couldn't blame him seeing as how Royal Dutch Shell were raking in most of the revenue whilst many Iranians lived in poverty, were illiterate etc. Wanna know why many Iranians hate America? Look to 1953

Thought it was quite entertaining. Obviously parts of it are fictionalised, and more could of been made of the history of bin Laden, instead of just introducing him as the financer of some bombers.

really, it's just a watered down version of the parts of the truth (such as bin laden's previous dealings with the US arent mentioned) but what else do you expect? the truth would be nice, but it just aint gonna happen

People want to believe that someone's the boss and that someone's in control and shaping everything. It's hopelessly Oedipal: we hate daddy USA but need them at the same time. Anyhow, just flicking through the paper today shows what a fiasco any so-called 'conspiracy' has been: Bin Laden off the map; Iraq a disaster; Taliban still kicking arse in Afghanistan.

I thought the show was good. Keitel was on autopilot (again) and it was a bit weird to see that lad from 'Eastenders' as a rabid jihadist, but, y'know, quality TV. I find it amazing that people believe they can can draw lines between "the facts" and "propaganda". How come geeks all over the globe stuck in front of his/her PC can see through the bullshit??? It's vain and narcissistic and self-aggrandising, to say the least. The paranoid style, anyone???

Amazingly, I completely agree with you. Now obviously ABC did mostly for ratings (money), but I wonder if they made it public of a docudrama, instead of a documentary, to kill the conspirecy theories out there? A bit of reverse psycology?

I completely agree with you, as it is slanted, but so are Micheal Moore's and Oliver Stone's crap, yet peoplebuy into that all the time. People love dirt on others and conspirecy theories.

There is a time to draw a line in the sand, so to speak. It is when factual based info is in higher ratio than the opinionated based info. When people add their opinion, and only seek out the info to back their assumption, well then they are just jack-asses...... or if done a little more they are Moore asses.

Tell you what is REALLY disgusting...... Some affiliates pulled this show in the US last night because they feared an FCC and AFA backlash...because it features firefighters swearing.....pious cunts, I'm sure if a plane hit THEM they'd say "oh gosh"

Hmmm. Second part went downhill for me. Endlessly masculinist, hopelessly melodramatic, wildly populist with more than a hint of the Dirty harry about it (damn those bureaucrats (sp.?) and wussy politicians!). Best bit was the obvious love affair between handsome leader of Northern Alliance and Donnie Wahlberg.

But on a more positive note, The Daily Show/Colbert Report returned with new shows last night. Kicks the crap out of some smarmy docudrama.
