With an avatar like that John, you soften the blow! But yeah, tough break for the lad and I hope he's ok! Enjoyed some of his patter with Clarkeson on Top Gear, but have a hard time admitting to myself I like Top Gear:uhoh: Likeable presenter, hope he's ok.

Bloody hell, perhaps he's not got BRAINIAC out of his blood, and attempted a tight corner in one of John Tickle's rocket powered wheelchairs.

he HAS to get well, I can't wait to hear Clarkson and May taking the piss out of him for crashing....mind you if he coups it'll hardly stop them.

This has knocked me sick - rare that celebrity injuries affect me at all.

They're basically running his O.B. on News 24. I do hope he's alright.

Wonder if he's got a donor card. Someone could be in line for a Hammond Organ.

(I feel dirty now)

I hope the Hamster recovers soon. In the past year that we've been getting Top Gear, it has quickly become must see TV with me and my friends.

BTW we are a season behind the UK.

Jesus. The Mirror is saying he was doing 280mph. The Sun has him doing a massive 320mph!

Well, if it was in the Sun - it just must be true.:shades:

The BBC news has gone from saying 'seriously injured' to 'critically injured'. Poor Guy.

they reckon he had beaten the land speed record and was going for another attempt

Hospital is reporting him now as "stable", which could be good news...then again, death is a table state too.

Dunno about the LSR, it may be that he had done the first run and was about to do the 2nd when it went baps-up on him. LSR attempts require 2 runs accross the measured mile within a given time.

Top Gear is the Dogs Bollocks.

Better news this morning as he's no longer critical. Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery if you'll pardon the pun.

It is slightly surprising none of the Top Gear presenters haven't had a bad crash before now ,really.

The Mickey Mouse 300mph British LSR as oppossed to 763mph World LSR.

The BBC will be praying he pulls through - they'll be able to broadcast the footage then.

It seems to be 'TV presenters die or get maimed for their art' month :evil4:

Poor fella! I suppose if you keep pushing the boundaries like that constantly you will come a cropper at some point, I mean 300mph - crazy!

Pah, you're doing 3 times that just sitting there Ness ;)

I guess jet power LSR cars aint built like F1 cars then.

I am actually proper worried about the guy, he's a funny bugger and utterly game for anythng....and if they fix him up, we get to hear Clarkson and May rip him for trashing a nice jet car that some nice gent lent them.

Jeremy Clarkson, Top Gear's main presenter, said that only 30 hours after Wednesday night's crash, Hammond sat up in bed, opened his eyes and asked what had happened. "You've been in a car accident," Clarkson said. "Was I driving like a twat?" asked Hammond, before walking gingerly to the toilet.
