That's a pity.

well maybe its a way of deflecting matters away from bin laden i dont think he has actually died, you know these secret service types of people. remember the 45min warning thingy that started the second iraq war in 2003 and the mass hysteria that surrounded it and how it found out to be untrue

so any information from the secret services should really be taken as a pinch of salt, they either gonna tell you half truths or total lies

haven't heard that one. wasn't he supposed to have kidney disease or something?

I know everyone will die sometime, but I've never heard that. Is this a credible source?

It comes from the Saudi. It has been said to the DGSE a few days ago. This news has been classified in a "secret defense" file but an article has been published in a newspaper called l'est républicain today.

& using the word 'alleged'

This is the umpteenth claim of bin Ladens death, and they all seem to be from French sources in Saudi. Another claim from French sources that the CIA were talking in hospital to Osama in Dubai in June 2001 about recruiting him as a spy, appears to be a load of old bollocks too.

Three years back(i think) there was a similar claim, at the point of where the holy month of Ramadan begins. Not sure if this is just coincidence or not, or what relevance it would have, but in theory we will get 40 days of peace and quiet from today.

I'd take it all with a pinch of salt.

A friend of mine always laughs whenever I mention Ben Laden. He believes that he practically doesn't exist and was invented all the way. I get scared to hear it.

Yes, he has kidney problems. However, I don't believe the news...yet.

If so, probably better for us then us actually killing him and making him a martyr. But I believe it when it hits more credible sources.

How about this for a strategy:

Fake rumors of Bin Laden's death are periodically "leaked" to the press from "secret" sources (actually from within the U.S. govt. itself), leading Osama to make some new audio or video tapes confirming his continued existence. Tapes are analyzed for clues to his whereabouts. Bombs fall, end of Osama.

It could happen. Let him take the bait and pop his head out.

A bit off topic. I can't find a thread about the United 93 movie here :(

Who cares?

I mean, yeah, I'd love nothing more than to see him answer for 9/11... but it's not gonna happen. Our "search" for him has been half-hearted at best. And why wouldn't it be? Current policymakers have every reason to keep him alive and scary.

It is not true in my opinion. That word -allegedly- is quite interestin, isn't it?

unless you find his body, i think its BS. Bush isnt looking for him anyway, Osama served his purpose, gave bush a reason(although not a very good one) to wage war on saddam , mission accomplished.
