How SHITE are this mob? Cheesy, uninspiring pub-rock that's shifting barrowloads of "units" at the moment. Who is buying this pish? To answer my own question I'd hazard a guess that the typical purchaser has a CD collection including plenty of Oasis, Primal Scream, Cast (!!), Arctic Monkeys and similar pleb-pop suspects.

The lead singer was in the paper last week being asked how it felt to have the second best selling album of the week behind Justin Timberlake. He made some comment along the lines of not wanting to be jusdged alongside "pop crap" like Mr. JT. That quote made me laugh out loud. Timberlake might be another annoying wee fanny but the production on that last single of his was more inventive than anything the greasy Glaswegians are ever likely to produce.

Haven't heard The Fratellis yet but does anyone else hate that "Never Be Lonely" single by The Feeling? It manages to provoke a violent mood out of me every time. Perhaps I've just been overexposed to it but the shitey soft rock underpinning the hellishly soppy lyrics "People in lurve get everythang wrong but at least they're not loooonely" make my skin crawl.

That's doing my head in along with the new Killers & Scissor Sister singles :banghead: One's a horribly aborted U2/Meat Loaf/Brooce Springsteen hybrid and the other's just an even camper (if that were possible) reworking of Elton John's 1970s output.

Sod all originality left in the music biz.

That Feeling track has to be one of the most overplayed, irritating songs of all time:angry:

And yes, the Scissor Sisters song is camper than a row of pink tents

Fcuking hell. False advertising, or what?! I *honestly* thought they were some Pipettes-type outfit after seeing their posters all over Londinium.

They'd be much better if they genuinely looked like this -

Never heard of 'em. But I did click on the link and you're right, a bunch of tedious sods. Is it brit-pop? Or is it glam rock they're playing?

It aint exclusive to Glasgow mate. It's the type of music that would sit well in Top Shops and Burtons up and down the country, and I'm sure it already does.

It's the big cheesy sing-a-long bits that give it that "shop" factor. Almost as cheesy as the feckin Kaiser Chefs.

If you look at them in that video I posted they're all 30+ as well which makes it even sadder. As I said, lowest common denominator pub-rock.

Mrs Shug is a big fan. They have a T-Rex vibe about them, they have grown on me an all......and I'm sure they're Tims.
