First tesco experience and more!

I'm in Egham now...going to Royal Holloway, Uni of London for the Fall (exchange program via University of Ottawa - I'm in History). After hearing so much about tesco on the forum I decided to make a visit to the one here! I was quite disappointed...I talked to one of the British girls here and apparently our Tesco is quite small compared to other places....quite unfortunate for me!

Is anyone out there from/near/has lived in or near Egham..? What exactly is there to DO around here anyways? I've been to Staines for some shopping, a movie (Little Miss Sunshine!), and pizza hut. At least I can go to London on the weekends. It feels so incredibly SMALL here compared to home - I lived in Sandy Hill in Ottawa which is right downtown and walking distance to almost anything you could possible want!

Ah well.

At least I get to see New Order on the 27th

Its Tesco not Tescoes. Egham is very dull, my friend lived there a few years ago and I stayed with him for the week-end - we went into London. Ali-G lives in Staines.

I actually saw that on the Staines town website, that Ali G is from there...it also seems to be a well known fact amonst my male Canadian friends...I think I've seen the show only once, and quite a while ago.

I don't remember...that's how long ago it was. I really don't watch that much tv anyways..

I do remember seeing some funny commercials for his show though

Well they announced profits this year of £2.5 billion, so dont rule it out. Denmark is first though in 2011.

I had my first tesco experience on Monday evening... Loved it! Mike must be proud of me now! It was a pain in the arse finding fresh vegetables like paprika/holland pepper it's called here. Found it in the end. Very nice colours, I must admit. The peppers not Tesco ha ha...... Made some excellent serbian dish out of them, yum yum... Good selection of wines as well and halloween accesories

Were fresh vegetables a pain in the arse in Serbia or is it something you have just discovered over here?

I went to Inverness this week and for such a small place it has the biggest Tesco, i've seen in my life.

And down in Pollock, Glasgow, the biggest Tesco in the UK has just opened. According to my friend who went 'you could get lost in there'.

Holland peppers - they almost looked like plastic ones so it got me a bit concerned to be honest, never seen something like that in Serbia.... great taste though

Sorry.From time to time i lose concentration.What i meant to say was that Tesco intend to open their first stores in the U.S mid-way through next year.
