I like this band's music....some of their albums I'm not too fond of....but the new album is great and I love the title..."I am not afraid of you and I will beat your ass"....hence my signature...I laughed and then cried....its perfect.

I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One is the only thing you'll ever need by YLT.. Title- and music-wise... They've done some other good stuff, but no other album quite matches up...

And don't forget the singles/e.p.'s, which contain some great B-sides and alternative versions (Tom Courtenay on Camp Yo La Tengo, for instance).
May I Sing with Me contains a few very good songs too, but the three albums you mention are probably their best.
I`ve never heard of them. Time to visit OrangeCable or whatever its called to investigate...

Far too many great Yo La Tengo moments to list here really. I suggest any newcomer should buy their recent - bargain-priced - 3CD anthology entitled "Prisoners Of Love" - which spans their entire output - the 3rd CD is a rarity-crammed treasure trove of alternative takes and unreleased tracks - most of which are simply too good to be considered "unreleased" in the YLT scheme of things. :)
