Heard this on the radio before and nearly fell of my chair. Never even knew he was sick (partly cos i dont watch snooker).

Indeed. And a very good Snooker player as well. 3 time Wembley champ. Remember he played at the Crucible last year after he had just been diagnosed, that must have took some serious balls.
Fucking sad. But not nearly as sad as Fred Elliot going last night,i felt the lump in the back of my throat,i say,i felt the lump in the back of my throat i did.

I checked the BBC Snooker website last week; must have been posted after I checked....
Paul Hunter was a fucking top bloke- He was the David Beckham of the snooker world and one of the best players in the game.
I really thought he was winning his battle... He played in the 2006 season despite his illness and I'm awed by his dignity.
His loss is a bloody cruel blow and he's leaving behind a wife and toddler.
God bless Paul you and may you rest in peace.

I know this is a condolence thread but I can't quite believe someone actually came out with this! What next Craig? Strap on an acoustic guitar for a rendition of Knockin' on Heaven's Door?
