Unfortunately this guy just drove it back to his local, then the Police came in and asked if anybody had seen who drove the bus. Luckily he's a popular bloke so didn't get arrested!!

Funniest bus-related story I have is from about 4 years ago when this lad (a well known pisshead) turned up in our local and ordered a coke because he was driving.
We all looked at him in amazement, and said "A coke????? But, you don't even have a car!!"
"Well I have now. Well actually, not strictly a car, but it's outside. Look for yourself", and threw a bunch of keys on the bar.
We all peeped out the window and saw a 126 bus that he'd liberated from a bus station!!!

Me and my friend Jenny got a bus into Bolton tonight. It's only a six mile journey but we're sick of being ripped off so we said we'd 'slum it on't bus'.
It was ace. Nice clean floors, polite driver and everybody was wearing shoes and everything.
I couldn't recommend it more. Seriously.
Buses are the future.
Course, I got a taxi home and he ripped me off, thieving gypsy bastard.
I'm going getting a bus tattoo tomorrow.
In fact, no, i'm goint to dismantle my bic and pencil sharpener as we speak.

Because a bus terminal and a train station - both that connected to the subway downtown - were at the bottom of my street, I rarely was in a car. Plus, insurance is very high in the city, so I never learned to drive. Boston had an adequate subway system, although the buses were crap. When I lived this past summer in Waltham, MA, a city outside of Boston, the only bus to take you into Cambridge and Boston wouldn't come. There was a time this summer when my significant other at the time and I decided to spend an afternoon at the beach and I said I'd go into downtown Boston. The bus I needed did not show up for almost 2 hours. I called the Massachusetts Bay transportation Authority office and I received a message that they were "receiving an influx of calls" and that I needed to wait. I wonder why...
Now that I've moved down to Hartford, CT, the public transportation pretty much stops at 7pm on week days and doesn't run on Sundays. Kind of makes me miss Boston's buses a bit. Or it just means I need to learn how to drive.
I use buses on the weekdays when I'm in school. The weekend services is shortened though. Out of the ten regular routes, only two routes are served at that time. I wish I could get out on the weekends. Plus, I need to get a driver's license sometime. Only have an expired learner's permit.
