george allen finally concended. what a couple of days: dems gain control of the house, a woman becomes the most powerful peropn in the US government ever, rumsfeld resigns, and the senate falls to the democrats. i bet bush is crying in his sleep, with his blanky at his ranch wondering what to do now that things aren't going to go his way for the first time in his life. awwww....poor dubya.

The Demicans have beaten the Republocrats! Or is it the other way round?

I _knew_ if the Republicans stayed in power for long enough they'd eventually screw up so spectacularly that even the Democrats wouldn't be able to manage to lose to them!

The drawback is that now the pro-war folk can put the blame for the disaster that Iraq is inevitably going to turn out to be (the only question being exactly how big a disaster it will be) on the Democrats. It's a bit like the German military handing over to the civilian politicians just as the army was collapsing at the end of WW1. Instead of taking the blame for getting us into the hideous mess, they are now free to insist it all would have turned out fine if only they'd been allowed to 'finish the job'.

Now if we could only get Bush charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity and then hanged. I think the US will be on the right track.

I've been laughing my ass off every time I watch the news! It's great. I don't honestly know how much better the Dems will run things, but at least the country should be safe from the scarier measures the Repubs tend to put forth. And if God forbid Bush gets to nominate another Supreme Court justice they should weed out any real nutcases.

I didn't get to vote unfortunately, forgot about the absentee ballot until too late. Still, my state Ohio got a new Democratic govenor and Senator, guess the voting machines weren't 'working right' this time! :shades:
